Long years ago, we made a tryst with destiny and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge... At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom."

Jawaharlal Nehru

After 62 years Indian Independence India could mange itself well in the global recession time. This year Independence Day marks a new and positive beginning with a good and favorable general and railway budget, which aims in helping all classes of Indian society.

15th August, Indian Independence day will be celebrated with much fun and fare, with Dr. Manmohan Singh will address the whole nation from the Red Fort, and he will also take the salute from the three armed forces.

Independence Day Celebrations
This year Independence Day will be celebrated all across the nation with great enthusiasm, the day is marked with the Indian flag hoisting ceremony at Red Fort and Prime Minister's address to the nation. All the state buildings and structures of national importance are adorned with 'Tricolor'. In the evening, sky is dotted with hundreds of colorful kites symbolizing the freedom. The soaring kites in the sky also signify the soaring dreams of independent India which wants to attain great heights and give the message that sky is the limit.

This year Independence Day will be remembering the sacrifices of its brave solders and sons, who have laid life for upholding Indian Independence. This general election in India, educated young youth (passed from Howard University and other primary Institution) have come forward and participated in election and changed the old concepts. They have brought with them new management techniques which I am sure these parliamentarians will put in practice. Take Indian to new heights.

World Bank has proposed to give aid which shall be used in Gramin shadak Yojana (Construction of roads) and in village level health programs. In this Independence Day many welfare programs have been initiated.

This year Independence Day first time India is called for G8 meeting, where Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was invited, it is great Honour to Indian economy.

Even though we Indians are becoming a global economic power, our rural poor are still languishing in inhumane conditions. They even lack the necessary resources to meet their basic needs like food, clean drinking water and primary health care.

India has the third largest scientific and technical labour pool in the world, and yet, whilst India's progress in space technology has attracted worldwide attention, the gap between the rich and the poor grows ever more. Those who eke out a living on the margins of society, the poorest of the poor, Dalits, Tribals, unorganized labor are all excluded from this economic progress.

Fortunately, the worldwide economic crisis has not impacted India that much. But corruption, fundamentalism and social discrimination are real social evils in our society.

This Independence Day marks new horizon in Indo American relationship. The Indo US relationship has reached and developed exponentially. According to ambassador to US Meera Shanker " It is a very important relationship for India certainly, which we feel is essential for meeting our development aspirations, as well as for enhancing global peace and security, and meeting some of the common global challenges that we face".

Therefore this year Indian Independence plays very significant role to development on economy, development of International bi lateral relationship, especially with US. More close ties with neighboring countries especially with China.

"Long live Indian independence "
