Indiana Jobs - on Paper There Here, in Reality-There Nowhere to Be Found

Madison Ogashi
New jobs are coming to Indiana...at least on paper they are. However, in reality jobs are still going to other places. Companies coming to, and companies expanding have made such announcements that they are coming, or are expanding all over the state, but... are people working at these so-called 'new' jobs? Answer: NO! The jobs just aren't there.

The companies who are actually hiring are doing it in a sneaky, don't tell, bait-n-switch sort of way. They make the public announcement, put it in the local newspapers that new job's are coming. What they don't tell you, is they let go of the older, long-time workers then hire new people in. Is this a cover for discrimination, or a new business practice? Many of these long time workers still have a few years to go before they can even think of retiring.

There was also a local company not long ago, shut down for a couple months, then re-opened after the head company got straightened up, by re-opening some and shutting down for good others. When the local company announced they would re-open, everyone got excited until the company said they were sending workers from another state to work here! That was around 500 jobs. What's this... local worker's aren't good enough? These local's already knew the job.

So, just what are the employment/unemployment numbers in Indiana. Only the Govt' knows, and their not letting any of it into the public. There is law here that state companies do NOT have to release any information about the numbers to the public, while other surrounding states do, just out of good policy to the taxpayers. Here in Indiana, on paper the job's are here, and they are kept on the books, even if the building of new buildings are not, even if the factories and warehouses still stand empty..... On paper, there are people working at those places.

Sounds like to me, they can fudge the numbers any way they like, and still call it 'official' Indiana is in bad shape, job-wise, as is most of the country. But other states let the public in on just how bad off they are... Indiana doesn't. But you can look at the unemployment lines here to see how thing's really are. And the video's below to tell you more.

Very much like the content but the author's spelling needs some help. I believe she means that the jobs are in Indiana, but she says, "There here." Should be they're [they are--contraction] here. Also, apostrophes should onlyl be used as possesives or in a contraction context, not as a plural.
