Indianapolis Colts 2011 NFL Playoffs Preview: Can Peyton Manning Save the Colts Season?
Indianapolis Colts Second Season Begins with Game Against New York Jets
This is just the beginning for Manning though. If the Indianapolis Colts get past the aggressive defense of the New York Jets they will then have to go on the road for the remainder of the NFL Playoffs as the number three seed. If they survive to the NFL Conference Championship game they may end up facing the New England Patriots. A game against the New England Patriots would be a classic battle that could end badly for the Colts.
Will Peyton Manning Be Effective in the NFL Playoffs?
Peyton Manning has struggled this season with the Indianapolis Colts offense but it may not be all on him. There have been plenty of dropped passes this season by Pierre Garcon and Reggie Wayne. The absence of reliable receivers Dallas Clark and Austin Collie has crippled this once explosive offense.
Manning's accuracy has not been an issue this season. Communication and teamwork appear to be the major issues with this offense. Manning is an extra offensive coordinator on the field and his vision and play calling ability is a major factor in the success of this team. Answer: Peyton Manning will be effective in the NFL Playoffs but not as effective as in past years.
Will Joseph Addai & the Indianapolis Colts Running Game be a Factor in NFL Playoffs?
Joseph Addai has returned to the Indianapolis Colts lineup but can he be integrated into Manning's offensive scheme? Addai has suffered numerous injuries including concussions over the years and it has changed his desire to be a hard hitting running back. Answer: Addai has failed to rush for more than 50 yards in his two games since his return and if he cannot do better he will not be a factor in the NFL Playoffs.
Will Indianapolis Colts Run Defense Show Up in NFL Playoffs?
The Indianapolis Colts run defense has been poor since the injury to Bob Sanders early in the season. Many teams took advantage of the Colts run defense this season but towards the end of the season they appeared to get a handle on it.
They are giving up an average of 130 yards per game on the ground but they contained Chris Johnson in their last game effectively. In their first NFL Playoffs game they will face the New York Jets duo of LaDanian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene. The two have not lit the NFL on fire with their accumulated yardage but as a tandem they are solid. Answer: The Indianapolis Colts run defense will be up to the task in the NFL Playoffs.
Will Indianapolis Colts Corners & Secondary Play at Same Level in NFL Playoffs?
The Indianapolis Colts secondary has been their best unit on defense this season. They are containing opposing quarterbacks to 210 yards per game and they are forcing NFL offenses to work the middle of the field.
The Colts secondary does not have many interceptions but they are solid on coverage and they rarely give up the big play. Answer: The Indianapolis Colts corners and secondary will play at a high level in the NFL Playoffs.
Indianapolis Colts Preview & Breakdown for NFL Playoffs
The Indianapolis Colts face a tough task on NFL Wild Card Weekend when they play the blitzing aggressive defense of the New York Jets. Peyton Manning is a master of manipulation on offense and if he can get this group of receivers some "stick em," he will not have any problems.
The Indianapolis Colts will advance to the NFL Divisional Playoffs and face the Pittsburgh Steelers. The game between the best defense in the NFL and the best offensive mind in the NFL will be the best game of the NFL Playoffs but in the end the Indianapolis Colts will be eliminated. The Indianapolis Colts will exit the NFL Playoffs in the second round.

Post a Commentthanks josh I jumped ahead. the playoff scenarios were going back and forth after Jacksonville lost.
In round 2, that is.
FYI... Colts are a 3 seed. If they win, they'll be going to Heinz Field and playing Pittsburgh. No possible scenario they could play N.E.
