The Indianapolis International Film Festival, April 23 - May 3, 2008
This festival strives to promote innovative and independent films which might not otherwise receive wide distribution, according to the IIFF Website. Individual tickets are $10.00 per show, but may be purchased in bundles of 10 for a discount. Tickets to the Friday Night Show and Awards Ceremony at the end of the festival are $20.00 in advance, $25.00 at the door. Earth Day Indiana Festival, April 26, 2008
This one-day outdoor festival is family-oriented and free to the public. More than 100 exhibits will be on hand, including crafts, live music and a display of alternative fuel vehicles.
Indianapolis 500 Festival, May 1 - 24, 2008
This exciting series of activities is centered around and leads up to the internationally known Indianapolis 500 race on May 25. Some key events include the Mini-Marathon, which sells out months in advance, Kid's Day, Rookie Run, Festival Princess Program, Breakfast at the Brickyard and more!
Broad Ripple Art Fair, May 17 - 18, 2008
This popular art fair is held at the Indianapolis Art Center and is currently in its 38th year. Attendees can enjoy international fare, art in various media, a kid's creativity tent and more! Tickets are $10-$22 for adults and $2 for children 2-12. For more info, check out their website.
4th Annual Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival, August 22-31, 2008
According to their website, this festival celebrates the best and boldest in alternative theatre and performance arts. The 2008 festival will feature 53 performance groups in 213 shows over 10 days. Pay $3.00 for a Festival Badge, then pay $10.00 to get into any of the 213 shows at the door.
Kid's Day On The Canal, June 7, 2008
This fun day for kids will be held in the Canal and White River State Park districts of Indianapolis. This event is free for everyone. Several activity booths will be set up along the Canal with children in mind, but its great for the entire family!
The Regions Bank Freedom Blast, July 4, 2008
This festival is a local tradition and favorite activity! Food, vendors, music and fun last all day and culminate in an amazing fireworks display after dusk. This festival is free for everyone - but bring money if you want to eat or buy light-up toys for the kids!
