Individual Player Fantasy Baseball Draft Guide 2009: Adam Jones

Adam Jones's Fantasy Value in the Outfield

The Professor
One of the most young and talented players in the game is Adam Jones. But, is he ready to be a starter on fantasy baseball teams around the country.

Position: OF

What he brings: Upside, picking Jones is all about his possible improvement. His numbers could grow to being worthy of a 10th rd. pick or maybe even better in fantasy drafts.

What he lacks: Experience, unfortunately owners aren't sure of what they're getting in Jones's second full season. Jones could fall flat on his face leaving owners fuming with the pick that they used on him.

Injury Risk: One thing you can count on Jones is that he will stay off the disabled list.

Fantasy Value: He does have the upside and could end up being one of your top 3 outfielders. But, I can't see his numbers maturing enough to justify the pick. Instead, draft him as a fourth or fifth outfielder and then be happily surprised if his numbers end up making him a starter in your outfielder.

I'm a kid that just plain loves baseball and has played fantasy sports since I was ten yrs. old. I have been to the greatest race ever the Indy 500 twice with my dad and my brother.  View profile
