Indoor and Outdoor Halloween Games

Many parents opt to have a Halloween party instead of letting the children go out trick or treating. Usually this is held the weekend before Halloween or on Halloween if it falls on a weekend. It gives a chance for the kids to celebrate Halloween in a safe and fun manner. There are plenty of games that don't include the traditional bobbing for apples. While you are planning your Halloween bash include some of these games that most children are not expecting.

As the guest arrive have a station set up with a jar filled with candy corn, orange and black buttons or some other Halloween theme candy. Make sure to have a pen and small slips of paper for the guest to write there name and how many they think is in the jar. Don't forget a box for them to deposit their entry. Before the party ends, make sure to sort through the entries for the winning number or the closest three. The prize can either be the jar or some other cute door prizes.

A great ice breaker to get the party start is the mummy game. You will need two willing adults and lots of toilet paper. Divide the children into teams of two and have them wrap up the adult as a mummy. You don't have to offer a prize for this game; it is a great ice breaker.

Preprint up sheets with the word "Halloween" or "Trick or Treating" give each guest a sheet and pencil. Set a timer for three minutes. Have each guest write down as many words that they think of in that time frame. The person with the most words wins a prize.

Depending on the weather you may be able to play a few games outside. Eyeball relay will have the guests running around and releasing some of that energy they have. All you need is 2 teams, 1 ping pong ball (decorated like an eyeball) and a spoon. Have the team's relay race. First team to cross the finish line wins.

While you are outside pumpkin bowling is a must. Decorate some empty 2 liter bottles like bowling pins. Add a little dirt, kitty liter or sand to the bottom for weight. Then get a few small pumpkins for bowling balls. Depending on how many guests you can either divide into teams or let each guest bowl there own game.

Guests will love these new ideas for games. Halloween parties are not just bobbing for apples and guessing what ghoulish stuff is inside the paper bag. Try some of these ideas at your next Halloween party and guests will be entertained for hours.
