Do you have a green thumb or would you more so refer to yourself as a non-gardener? No, not everyone has a green thumb yet they refuse to give up on caring for plants and flowers. Well, if you are a non-gardener and would like to continue with the challenge of taking care of plants, here are some tips for you.

1. Locate an indoor plant that has a high success rate for survival. There are plants that need a lot of attention and ones that need only periodic watering and moderate sunlight. What is one of those plants? What type would you fair best with? One suggestion is the Pothos. This is one of the top ranking indoor plants that is resilient, versatile, and easy to care for. This vine-like plant can be potted in a hanging basket, or in a pot where the leaves can drape down the side of your entertainment center, desk, or kitchen bar. It is great for decoration, adds a splash of color to the room, and outdoor beauty to your home. How do you care for the Pothos? It is simple. Make sure it receives low light, has moderately moist soil, and is in a room that ranges 62-80 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a beautiful plant, adds flare to your home, and only needs easy care.

2. Be sure to pot your plants in healthy soil that has the nutrients necessary to maintain a healthy plant. For example, Miracle Grow is a well-advertised soil product that can help to keep your plant healthy. Also, do not forget that pot size matters. A pot that is too small does not allow for the roots to prosper. Therefore, as your plant outgrows the current pot, be sure to transition it into a new pot where the roots can spread.

3. Finally, be sure to clean your plants. Just as your furniture can collect dust so can your plants. Simply take a wet cloth and gently wipe it over the leaves. Also, as plants outside tend to be coated with morning dew, create this same effect within your home. For example, take a spray bottle, fill it with water, and gently spray the leaves of your plant. This helps to provide the dew effect and give your plant that shiny, fresh look.

Overall, you do not need to have a green thumb to maintain an indoor plant. Simply choose a plant with a high success rate for indoor survival. Then, apply the above care tips to keep your plant alive and beautiful.
