Industrial Uses for Label Dispensers and Label Applicators

Used to Dispense, Apply, or Print and Apply Labels to Packages

As you should already know, a label is a paper card, usually sticky on the back, that's attached to an object to denote its contents, ownership, intended use or destination, but you may have never thought about the roles of label dispensers and label applicator. Label dispensers remove labels from their backing to get them ready for use, and the label applicators print and affix labels to their packages.

There are both automatic and manual label dispensers on the market. For light-duty usages, the manual type, operated by hand, is sufficient. To operate manual label dispensers, you pull a liner around a plate, and thereby cause the label to peel off of its foundation. For heavier assignments, electric semi-automatic label dispensers are used. They deal effectively with multiple-row address labels. You can also use these electric label dispensers to remove labels from a surface. Instead of pulling and hoping the label remains whole, you can take the automatic label dispensers and remove the label. These automatic label dispensers are built to withstand industrial use, and prove quite efficient for office operation.

With label applicators, you can do everything from the first step of producing a label to the final one of putting it on a package or envelope. Some are just simple manual dispensers, while others are highly technical. You can get industrial label applicators for intensive jobs that have conveyor belt systems that can handle thousands of products. Most of the time, people are trying to label cartons, food packages, bottles, chemical drums and pallets.

There are four types of label applicators: Automatic, Semi-automatic, Print and Apply, and RFID. With the largest jobs, automatic label applicators are desirable. They have photo eyes that spot the package and allow them to sense just the right time to dispense and apply the label as the package comes down the conveyor belt. With the semi-automatic label applicators, you have to put the product under the applicator and make it work by pressing a foot pedal, and then the cycle starts over again with the next product. Print and Apply label applicators are good for those who have a number of product labels to print because of their versatility, but you have to do all the application. With dispenser applicators, all it does for you is print and partially peel the label. They're best for a low number of products.

Label dispensers and label applicators will make your office jobs much easier. You can possibly cut back on your staff at the office, thus saving a lot of money for your business. You can also increase production if you get the automatic type. Whichever one you choose, it will improve the productivity of your office.
