Industries That Offer the Best Careers

These Careers Offer the Best Jobs

Kirby Rooks
If you ask a job counselor how to pick the best career chances are they will answer, "follow your passion." This is the mantra that is dominating industry blogs, social media sites, and books on best career decisions. They will explain that the quest in today's marketplace for the best jobs is to get a position that will place you in the flow. Which is job-speak for doing what you're passionate about. Nothing new under the sun, passion has always been what we should plan to do.

In the United States we are experiencing the worst economy since the Great Depression. Thousands of jobs are being lost every week to bankruptcies, overseas outsourcing and of course the lack of the ability to borrow money for expansion.

So if job seekers, college grads and career changers will direct their flow to these industries they will find rewarding careers in high demand industries.

What Industries Offer the Best Careers

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the economy is quickly moving away from jobs in the manufacturing sectors. They are shifting to service oriented positions. These positions tend to be in industries of high growth and demand that will offer the best career choices. Agriculture continues to lose the most jobs as do oil & gas and mining.

So if we focus on the high growth industries with the best career opportunities we will find were the bureau has forecasted the most demand.

Healthcare will Lead the Way With the Best Jobs

First is Healthcare the industry continues to grow at a rapid pace for several reasons and offers careers for women as well as men. Healthcare is big as the baby boomer generation is moving towards the twilight of their lives and is living longer then any generation in history. This requires more nurses-aids for both doctor's offices and rest homes as well as assisted living facilities.

As the administration continues to move towards meaningful healthcare reform the information technology arena will begin to offer the best jobs. Much like in the 1990's to handle the sheer volume of work information technology will be in high demand. As doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies scramble to gain efficiencies and to work kinks out of the system they will be adopting new technologies and replacing old legacy systems as well as moving to the paperless society.

Educational Services Needs Teachers to Help Supply Demand for Top Careers

Next is Educational Services and yes we still have a shortage of teachers in all three disciplines primary, secondary and post secondary education. As the boomers age their children are still flooding into colleges and because of immigration both legal and otherwise our public schools are looking everywhere to hire teachers. Educational services is one of the best career choices for women as well as men wanting to break into the educational services area.

Also with the advent of specialized job skills online education as well as community classes are in strong demand. They will supply some of the needed talent for the best jobs being created by the current administration. Top career demands will look to supply all their needs through these schools as a prescreening for specialized skills. This will lower the cost of doing business as employees are retained longer and faster to help make our industries more efficient for this new world.

Professional and Business Services will Supply the Best Career Jobs
Employment services over the next five years are expected to grow around 18%. Businesses will need specialized skills and labor to meet the changing demands of the global marketplace. Temp Agencies and Professional Employer Organizations will lead the way as educational services produce workers with upgraded skills to fill these positions. The best career jobs in healthcare and education will need employment services to keep up with the demand.

Don't forget payroll services, accounting services and all kinds of consultants and financial people will be needed to keep up with the top industries business needs.

Well there are three industries that will lead the way in the future as our economy retools and gets its feet on the ground.
