Industry Expert Mike Caro Builds Gambling Career on Odds, Writings, and Computer Programs

There are few names bigger than Mike Caro in the professional gaming world. However, you won't find him at the poker table.

Known as "Gambling's Mad Genius," Mike Caro is a leading industry consultant. Casinos base their games on his computer research and personal analysis.

Mike Caro rose to fame in the professional gambling world in 1978 when he contributed 50 statistical tables to Doyle Brunson's Super/System: A Course in Power Poker. More than 25 years later, and the charts are still considered the most accurate and comprehensive in the industry.

In 1986, Mike Caro became the general manager for Huntington Park Casino. From 1990 to 1992, Mike Caro hosted a radio show on KVEG that featured The Mad Genius Brain Trust, a panel of 40 experts from a variety of fields that would calculate odds on sports games to current events, such as man landing on the moon and the next president.

In 1992, Mike Caro put together the World Poker Finals at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. The World Poker Finals was the first poker tournament to feature corporate sponsorship and use the four-color deck.

The professional gambling industry presented Mike Caro with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Bicycle Club Casino in 1994.

Today, Mike Caro is the founder of Mike Caro University of Poker, Gaming, and Life Strategy. He is also an adamant supporter of his four-color deck, which breaks the four suites into four different colors, and a leading consultant in internet poker.

Mike Caro is a contributing writer for Poker Player, Bluff, and Casino Player. He has discussed his work in structured seminars across the world, including Canada, Great Britain, the United States, and Costa Rica. In 2005, Mike Caro worked with Doyle Brunson to host semInternetinars at seven universities.

Mike Caro is also a regular emcee and keynote speaker for poker events, including the World Poker Players Conference and 2005 World Series of Poker main event.
