Has a friend or a family member had a baby? This is a joyous occasion. But unfortunately shopping for a baby can often mean looking at very expensive items. You may want to express you congratulations - but sometimes buying those fancy gifts can be a little too hard for most of us. Well fortunately, there are still some gifts that you can find that the baby and new mother will enjoy and treasure. Here are some ideas for inexpensive baby gifts that the new mom will be sure to love.

Baby Sunblock and Baby Hat. This is an important gift because sun protection is very important. Any new mother would appreciate this gift, because sunblock is the type of thing that you always need and that you often run out of at exactly the wrong time. Look for sunblock from a name brand company, and be sure to get at least 45SPF and that it blocks UV rays. A baby hat for sun should have a wide rim, and probably should be cotton.

Parenting Magazine. A subscription to a parenting magazine would be a welcomed gift by many new mothers. Subscribing to a parenting magazine will cost less than twenty dollars. This is a great gift idea and it is also nice because it will come for an entire year, it is not just a gift that you give once - it will come once a month for an entire year.

Stuffed Animal. What baby wouldn't love a stuffed animal? There are so many that you can select from. A bunny, a kitty, a doggie. This is a great gift that the baby will enjoy for a long time.

Board books. Get the baby a love of reading from the very start. Give the baby board books that will inspire the baby to learn to love books (even though the baby will just be chewing on them at first...). You never know, you may be encouraging a real bookworm or a serious scholar.

Picture frame. Every parent takes tons of photos of their baby. They will no doubt need some good picture frames to put these pictures in. There are many picture frames made especially for babies, look for ones that have baby or children themes. Another great idea is a photograph album, or magnetic photo frames for the refrigerator that people can use and reuse over and over again.
