Inexpensive Breakfast Ideas for Indoor Film Productions

Independent filmmakers can save a lot of money by providing bagels and toast for breakfast during a film production. Bagels and toast are great alternatives to donuts. They are both more nutritious and less expensive than what is offered at the local donut shop. Short movies may not see the difference in the budget. This is especially evident if the production is scheduled for only one day. If a short film is going to be shot for more than one day, bagels and toast is a less expensive choice for independent filmmakers. With that said, bagels and toast will definitely save filmmakers a lot of money on feature film productions.

Bagels come in bags of 6 for less than three dollars a bag. A loaf of bread costs about one dollar and some change. Donuts are the usual breakfast selection for independent film productions. A box of a dozen donuts cost around six or seven dollars with tax included. This means that it is more cost effective to get bagels and toast instead of donuts. By purchasing donuts, filmmakers have provided breakfast for the cast and crew for one day. If there is a small cast and crew involved, bagels and toast will last for days on end. Bagels come in a variety of flavors that include plain, cinnamon & raisin, onion and sesame. Both white and wheat bread should be purchased to make toast.

Filmmakers do not have elaborate budgets to provide the right breakfast for health nuts who may be among the cast and crew. However, health fanatics can be accommodated by including fruit into the breakfast for an indoor film production. Fruit such as apples, bananas, pears and oranges can be purchased for less than five dollars. There should be enough fruit for everyone in the cast and crew. While everyone may not choose to eat it, fruit can be another healthy and appetizing breakfast choice for an indoor film production.

Beverages can include orange juice, water, milk, tea and coffee. People are usually selective when it comes to breakfast beverages. They want what they want and nothing else. This is especially true for those who drink a lot of coffee. Nothing else will suffice for these individuals. By having a variety of breakfast beverages, filmmakers can increase the chances of having satisfied cast and crew members. I would recommend getting instant coffee. Unless you are having breakfast at your house where you know there is a coffee maker, instant coffee is the best choice. If you are having trouble deciding between Folgers or Maxwell House, take a survey among the cast and crew before shopping.

Filmmakers must also remember to get breakfast extras for indoor film productions. Toaster a toaster is an essential tool that filmmakers must be provided. Aside from making toast, they can be used for warming bagels as well. Cream Cheese is a must for preparing bagels. It comes in a variety of flavors and can be purchased in containers. Butter is an important extra for breakfast. Margarine or vegetable oil spread should also be purchased for those who may not eat butter. A tea kettle or pot must be provided as well in order to prepare the tea and coffee. Filmmakers should not forget grape and strawberry jelly for toast. Some people eat jelly with their bagels as well, so jelly serves many purposes. Breakfast would not be complete without the essential napkins, plates, cups and utensils. Make sure to include these items, or there will be a mess to clean up after breakfast.
