A Christmas centerpiece creates a focal point for any Christmas celebration. It helps to decorate your table and provide an atmosphere of cheer and joy for your Christmas guests. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a beautiful centerpiece for Christmas. Here are a few easy and inexpensive centerpieces that anyone can make.

Floral Centerpieces

Get a large inexpensive vase and a piece of floral foam that will fit inside it. Soak the floral foam in water and floral preservative for about half an hour. Then get some inexpensive winter flowers such as carnations, chrysanthemums, amaryllis and pansies and arrange them in the foam with some greenery such as pine or balsam sprigs. If you'd like a more exotic Christmas floral centerpiece, skip the floral foam and the fresh flowers and get a Styrofoam block and some artificial silk flowers instead. Choose flowers such as silk roses, lilies, orchids and tulips. Push the stems of the flowers in the Styrofoam to hold the artificial flowers in place.

Candle Centerpieces

Creating a candle centerpiece is a great way to add some elegance to your Christmas table. To make a simple candle centerpiece, get a large white pillar candle and set it in a glass, metal or wooden bowl, then fill the rest of the bowl with beaded garlands and Christmas ornaments. You can also make an easy candle centerpiece by placing a pillar candle in the center of a small Christmas wreath.

Christmas Tree Centerpiece

Get a miniature artificial Christmas tree, a short string of battery powered LED Christmas lights and some miniature ornaments. Decorate the Christmas tree centerpiece as you would a regular size Christmas tree. Then place a miniature Christmas tree skirt over the base. You could also set your Christmas tree centerpiece inside a bowl with silk flowers or attach it to a small terra cotta pot.

Christmas Party Centerpieces

One of the best ways to create a Christmas party centerpiece is to make an edible centerpiece. You can arrange fruits and vegetables in the shape of a Christmas tree by using toothpicks to attach them to a foam cone wrapped in food-safe plastic wrap. You can also create an edible centerpiece by placing appetizers in bowls shaped like Santas, snowmen, stars or sleighs.
