Inexpensive Eye Creme

Beauty on a Budget: Article 2

Did I mention that I'm starting to notice my signs of aging? I'm only in my 30's but I'm already beginning to fret about my looks, something I never worried about as a teen.

Several months ago I noticed the crow's feet (wrinkles at back corners of the eyes) and shocked myself with how much they upset me. Granted they are tiny, barely noticeable except to the trained (or paranoid) eye, however, it's best to halt the aging process as soon as possible. The sooner the better, which is why it is so important to take care of your skin at a young age - a fact that I regretfully did not heed.

Today there is a plethora of ointments, gels and treatments which promise to reduce the signs of aging, by smoothing out wrinkles, brightening dull skin and eliminating bags under the eyes. While having such a wide selection available is nice, it creates a dilemma of which one to choose. There is also the problem of cost. The average eye cream can retail for about $17 on up for name brands, with generic store brands selling around $11. With my budget I was not in the mind to shell out $11 for an itty bitty container of eye creme.

Thus when I happened upon Lacura skin care products at Aldi Foods I was happily surprised. They have a selection of eye cremes that retail for about $4! I eagerly snatched up a tube of Lacura Regenerating Eye Cream for Mature Skin.

One nice thing about the packaging is that it doesn't make outlandish boasts of instant results or making all your aging signs disappear. Instead it simply states its active ingredients of grape seed oil, Mimox® and a phytocomplex (which the Aldi website says is a combination of balm mint and barley) and that it "helps" to reduce wrinkles. That sounded like a completely legitimate claim.

That night before bed I applied my newfound eye creme. It is just 1/2 oz tube, but you only need a tiny dab per eye, so it does last quite a while. I applied the creme to my crow's feet as well as under my eyes. My skin has had a kind of scaly look to it under my eyes for quite some time now, and regular moisturizers never cleared it up.

The next morning I was extremely pleased with the results. Under my eyes, the scaliness had been greatly reduced and the skin felt noticeably tighter leaving a smoother, brighter look. My crow's feet are more prominent on my left eye than my right, and the ones on the right were still visible, but harder to find even with my paranoid eyes.

I've been using the creme fairly regular at night for a few weeks now and I'm still happy with the results. I say "farily regular" because I'm extremely absent-minded and often forget things that should be routine. Every night that I do remember, I notice the better looking skin around the eyes the next morning. The only thing that I have noticed on the negative side, is that it seems to have reached a point where it can't do anything further. At least not any more drastic changes. The crow's feet on my right eye are pretty much gone, but the ones on the left are still visible, although well-reduced. The scaly looking skin under my eyes is greatly smoothed out, but not completely.

All in all, I have to say I'm very satisfied with the Lacura Eye Cream and I plan on trying some of their other products soon. Perhaps a combination of their skin care products will help reduce my aging signs further!

Summary:
Lacura Regenerating Eye Cream (for Mature Skin) Retails for $3.99 at Aldi Food Stores

Results might be limited but they are definitely worth more than what they cost.
