Inexpensive and Fun Adult Christmas Party Games

Even If You Are on a Budget, You Can Still Have a Great Christmas Party

Christmas is quickly approaching and many of us are on a budget this year. Even if you are on a budget, you can still have a great adult Christmas party. There are many ways to cut corners from food to party favors to party games. Here are some cheap and even free party games that all your guests can enjoy.

There are a few types of music games that are fun and free. First, you can try Christmas karaoke or a Christmas American Idol competition. Pick your judges and you favorite Christmas carols and you are all set. You can also play 'guess that song'. Someone chooses a random word from a Christmas song and everyone else tries to guess. If no one can guess, then someone challenges the person who chose the words to sing the song.

Charades and Pictionary are also great party games. Make it a team activity with Christmas themed subjects. Or you can try a scavenger hunt. A scavenger hunt is always fun and cheap, and you can make it as easy or complex as you want. Hide items in your home, back or front yard, or in the neighborhood. The items can be Christmas themed and you can create teams. This game is a great way to get to know each other and brings back childhood memories. Some examples of Christmas themed items for your hunt are; an acorn, a candy cane, a Christmas card, a homemade cookie, gumdrops, ribbon, an ornament, poinsettias etc.

Who doesn't love to receive gifts? Run to the dollar store and pick some nice trinkets and wrap them. Have your guests sit together. The first person picks a gift and unwraps it. The second person can either pick a new gift or 'steal' the first person's gift. This goes on until the last person goes. It's interesting to see who ends up with each gift. Another game involving a gift is 'musical packages'. Wrap gifts in several layers of wrapping paper. Everyone sits in a circle and the first person unwraps the first layer. Then the gift is passed on to the next person and so on until everyone has opened a gift.

Finally, you can put together a Trivial Pursuit type of competition. Make cards with Christmas related questions and answers with different subjects, such as Christmas music, Christmas books, Christmas traditions, Christmas foods and so on. You can purchase awards from your local dollar store to give out to the winners.

Hope you enjoy these party games and Happy Holidays!

Great party game ideas. We've done the "steal the gift" game and it turned out pretty funny.
