Inexpensive Gifts to Make for Parents for Christmas

Here are a few inexpensive and easy items to purchase and design for your parents for Christmas.

Canvas Bag for Mom

Items needed:

1 canvas bag (purchased at a Craft Store)

acrylic paint (colors you need)

stenciled design

stencil brush

masking tape

newspaper

Lay your canvas bag flat. Take your stencil and masking tape and tape the stencil to the bag. Make sure you cover the areas you do not want to paint at first. Take your brush and dip it in the stencil paint and then dab off on paper till only a light amount of paint shows on the newspaper. Start from the outside of your design and paint from the outside to the inside. Go around in a circular motion. Take the stencil off and then was gently and dry carefully. Then retape over the areas that are already painted, and then paint your next color. Repeat the method until your finished.

Canvas Purse (with leather bottom and straps) For Mom

Items needed:

1 canvas bag with leather straps and leather bottom (purchaser at a Craft Store)

acrylic paint (colors you need)

stenciled design

stencil brush

masking tape

newspaper

Lay your canvas bag flat. Take your stencil and masking tape and tape the stencil to the bag. Make sure you cover the areas you do not want to paint at first. Take your brush and dip it in the stencil paint and then dab off on paper till only a light amount of paint shows on the newspaper. Start from the outside of your design and paint from the outside to the inside. Go around in a circular motion. Take the stencil off and then was gently and dry carefully. Then retape over the areas that are already painted, and then paint your next color. Repeat the method until your finished.

Handkerchiefs for Dad

Items need:

1 package of men's white handkerchiefs (pick up in the men's department)

stencil letters for Dad's first initial

stencil acrylic paint

stencil brush

newspaper

masking tape

Take and iron the handkerchiefs. Then take dad's first initial stenciled letter and tape it to the corner of the handkerchief, and stencil paint by dabbing the brush in the paint, and dabbing it off on the newspaper. Then paint the stenciled letter from the outside in, holding the stencil down. Let dry. Then throw in the dryer to set the paint.

Flour Sack Towels For Mom

Items needed

Flower Sack towels (2) (purchase at Wal Mart or a craft store)

Stencil with a kitchen design

stencil paint (acrylic)

stencil brush

masking tape

newspaper

Pre wash the towels, let dry and then iron them

Take the stencil and lay it on the bottom of the towel, near the center of the bottom of the towel, tape the stencil in place. Tape off the areas you don't want to paint at first. Dab your stencil brush in the paint, and dab off on newspaper. Start painting from the outside in, in a circular motion. Then take the stencil off and remove the tape. Wash it carefully, and dry carefully. The retape over the areas already painted and repeat the methods until you are finished.

BBQ Apron for Dador Kitchen Apron for Mom

Items needed:

1 BBQ Apron.

1 stencil design for a man

stencil paint (acrylic)

stencil brush

newspaper

masking tape

Lay your apron flat. Take your stencil and masking tape and tape the stencil to the apron. Make sure you cover the areas you do not want to paint at first. Take your brush and dip it in the stencil paint and then dab off on paper till only a light amount of paint shows on the newspaper. Start from the outside of your design and paint from the outside to the inside. Go around in a circular motion. Take the stencil off and then was gently and dry carefully. Then retape over the areas that are already painted, and then paint your next color. Repeat the method until your finished

Stationery and envelopes for Mom

6 sheets of typing paper (white or colored - your choice) fold in 1/2 and then cut along the fold line

6 envelopes

stencil paint (acrylic)

1 small delicate stencil

stencil brush

newspaper

get the scotch tape that peels off easy.

Lay out your stationery Take your stencil and easy to peel off tape the stencil to the stationery ( I like to put the design in a corner). Make sure you cover the areas you do not want to paint at first. Take your brush and dip it in the stencil paint and then dab off on paper till only a light amount of paint shows on the newspaper. Start from the outside of your design and paint from the outside to the inside. Go around in a circular motion. Take the stencil off and then was gently and dry carefully. Then retape over the areas that are already painted, and then paint your next color. Repeat the method until your finished. You will want to take the stencil and tape it to the back of the envelope (I usually tape it where the envelope seals and makes a point). Follow the above directions to stencil on the envelope. When dry. Take the stationery and envelopes and put them in a ziplock bag.

Mouse Pad For Mom and Dad

Items needed:

1 large sheet of fun foam (your choice of colors)

scissors

stencil

stencil paint acrylic

masking tape

newspaper

Take the fun foam and cut it in 1/2, round the corners. Take your stencil and masking tape and tape the stencil to the fun foam mouse pad. Make sure you cover the areas you do not want to paint at first. Take your brush and dip it in the stencil paint and then dab off on paper till only a light amount of paint shows on the newspaper. Start from the outside of your design and paint from the outside to the inside. Go around in a circular motion. Take the stencil off and then was gently and dry carefully. Then retape over the areas that are already painted, and then paint your next color. Repeat the method until your finished.

These are some fun and inexpensive/cheap way to make gifts for Mom and Dad for Christmas.
