Inexpensive Halloween Date Ideas

Lauren Romano
Chances are while thinking of Halloween date ideas, doing a corn maze, carving a pumpkin or going to an interactive attraction like a haunted house comes to mind. After you've done those traditional and fun dates, there are several others that will further put you in the Halloween spirit. Between the Halloween excitement and your date, your heart might beat just a little bit faster by the end of the night.

Halloween Movie Marathon

Get into the Halloween spirit by watching several creepy or Halloween inspired movies. It can be a good chance to have a date together at home where you can turn the lights on or off depending on how scary the movies are. Considering many others might also want to watch these types of movies, rent them as early as possible in order to get the ones you want.

Volunteer

Many organizations will have Halloween events or activities that require the help of volunteers. It's an opportunity to give back while still having a fun Halloween date. Check places such as local hospitals or nonprofit organizations that host holiday events for kids.

Ghost Experiences

If you and your date enjoy the paranormal, do a ghost tour of an allegedly haunted location. The types of tours include a walk through in a cemetery, a house or a business. Another option is to sign up with a group to stay in an allegedly haunted location overnight. If you are comfortable, consider staying with your date in a haunted hotel. Try to request the room that is said to have the most paranormal activity. Some places and tours may be more expensive the weekend of Halloween so think about going a few weeks before.

Halloween Themed Food Cooking Night

If you and your date enjoy cooking, spend a few hours cooking Halloween themed goodies. For example, make cookies that look like fingers or spiders, candy coated apples or a cake that resembles a brain. You can also make ghost, monster or pumpkin topped cupcakes. If you can't eat all the goodies yourselves, deliver them to loved ones.

Make Decorations

A few weeks before the holiday, get together for a date to make decorations for the holiday. Set up a creepy Halloween display inside, make ghosts to hang up outside and paint spooky designs on plain, wooden signs. Instead of a typical scarecrow, make one that resembles a mummy or a zombie.

Halloween is about fun, creativity and expression just like your dates should be. Take the opportunity to do activities that you normally may not do the rest of the year. Depending on the activity or event, you may also get to do it in costume as well.

A haunted house tour is a good idea, too.
