The Apex Kwanzaa Festival at the Apex Museum in Atlanta is being held on December 29th from 6-8 p.m. This free celebration includes a candle lighting ceremony, affirmation of the Nguzo Saba ( the seven principles), an African market, drummers, dancers, poets. Kwanzaa Celebration: Imani is being held at Life's Essentials Market, located at 2329 Cascade Road in Atlanta. The event is from 4-7 p.m. on January 1st. African dance, drumming, speakers, and vendors. This event is free of charge. For more information contact 404-753-2269.
Nia: Kwanzaa Celebration is being held at The Grounds Coffee House at Sky Lofts at 6p.m. It's located in the historic West End area at 898 Oak St. in Atlanta. Come for an evening of being on purpose with the Black Vegetarian Society of Georgia. This event offers a free 30 minute salsa dancing class, and features live and cooked vegan cuisine. Also drum circle, dancers and a marketplace are also featured. This is a free event. Contact 404-753-7063 for more information.
The Herndon Home, located at 587 University Place in Atlanta offers tours of the home with music and storytelling during the holiday season. The Christmas and Kwanzaa celebrations begin Dec. 13th. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. For more information contact 404-588-0239.
