Game Background

If you have played the previous Infectonator games, then you will know how this one works. What's new in this sequel is the addition of a world map, giving players the sense of dominating the world with zombies.

Gameplay

The objective of the game is to infect people and turn them into zombies. The more people you turn into zombies, the better.

When you begin the game, you will be shown a map of the world. Africa will be unlocked, but the other countries and continents will be locked. Clicking on a locked country will tell you how many towns you need to destroy in order to unlock that country. Click on Africa to enter the continent.

Once you have zoomed into a continent, you will be shown a number of towns. Click on a town to begin infecting it. Some towns will be locked. Towns that are locked can be unlocked by destroying nearby towns. The towns will become increasingly more difficult to destroy.

To destroy a town, simply infect people and turn them into zombies. Before you begin infecting a town, you will be presented with a number that will indicate to you how many people you need to infect. This is the goal you are trying to reach. You must reach this goal in order to successfully destroy that town.

To begin the game, click on the screen. You can then inject the zombie disease, which will fire in a number of directions starting from where you clicked on the screen. If the infection contacts an individual, that individual will turn into a zombie. The newly infected zombies will then be able to walk around and infect non-zombie individuals. Zombies only have a limited time to live and will die automatically after a while. Coins will be dropped throughout the game. These coins can be collected by moving your mouse close to the coin. Collected coins can be used to purchase upgrades.

At the bottom-right hand corner of the screen, you have a number of buttons that you can press to access different areas of the game. It is here that you can access the upgrade shop, titled Lab.

While in the Lab, you can purchase the following upgrades:
-increase lifespan of zombie
-increase speed of zombie
-increase health of zombie
-increase attack power of zombie
-increase chance of infection
-improve the spreadability of the initial injection of the virus into the population
-increase money magnet of your cursor
-increase supply of bombs
-obtain ability for virus to penetrate walls
-obtain ability for virus to penetrate people
-extra virus click

Some special individuals cannot be turned into zombies directly. Others can fire back at zombies. You will need to utilize special weapons in order to take care of these more difficult individuals.

One new aspect of this sequel is the use of special types of zombies. The types of zombies that are available can be viewed in-game at the bottom of the screen.

Knowing when to inject the virus and utilizing weapons carefully, plus upgrading appropriately and wisely, will allow you to destroy each town and eventually dominate the world.

Game Review

Infectonator : World Dom has been highly anticipated by fans of the zombie-themed series. Though the game was promised to be released in January, the group working on their latest creation worked on it a little longer and were able to come through the following month with what seems to be a very sound game with a large variety of levels and weapons and upgrades. Because the game has expanded to allow users to dominate the world, this sequel not only builds on its original theme but offers new puzzles for fans and newcomers alike.

Infectonator : World Dom scores a 10/10 for high entertainment value.
