The next symptom that it made it pretty obvious to me that I was pregnant was of course missing my menstrual period. After I realized that it wasn't coming, I jumped in the car with my boyfriend to the nearest store to get a pregnancy test. I think we bought a box of 3 and I was pretty sure I was pregnant so I don't know why I thought I would need so many tests. My pregnancy test was positive! I was so excited I took a pregnancy test for the next week just to be sure they kept reading positive! Around the same time I took the pregnancy test I began to feel other pregnancy symptoms as well and I decided to make an appointment to see my doctor so my pregnancy could be confirmed.
I had bleeding gums when I would brush my teeth and normally they would never do that. My nose also became pretty stuffy, but I had no other 'cold' symptoms. I started to feel nauseated in the morning, so bad that I couldn't get out of bed without trying to scarf down some saltine crackers first.
In the coming days I could feel twinges in my side, I can't remember if it was my right or left side. It turns out that was my little guy burying himself into me. I could actually feel it! It's kind of hard to describe. It was slightly discomforting, but not real bad at all. Some days I would have some light cramping too, but never accompanied with blood. If you have bleeding and cramping it's important to get in to see a doctor because you may be having a miscarriage. Everybody is different though, so never assume, but it is important to get checked out.
