Injustice in Atlanta

Brett Davison
Remember the good old days when mob bosses ruled every major city in America? Remember how Al Capone covered up his crimes through intimidation and bribes? Remember how the mafia had policemen all over the world on their payroll? Well guess what...we're back in the good old days!

On March 15, thousands of masked demonstrators from all over the world gathered to de-celebrate the birthday of L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology's founder. In Atlanta, Georgia, approximately 180 protesters showed up to make their stand against the cult of Scientology. In reaction to this, the police came out in front of the Scientology building in full riot gear! The police proceeded to arrest two of the main organizers for protesting without a permit and causing offensive or hazardous conditions, despite the fact that the protesters had been repeatedly told that they did not need a permit. Dissatisfied with this single abuse of the law, the police proceeded to ticket anyone that honked in support of the protesters.

The anons who had been arrested were not taken directly to the police station, but rather inside the Scientology center they had been protesting in front of, where it is assumed they were unmasked and added to the online list of anons that the CoS has managed to identify. One of the drivers who had been ticketed also said that the policeman who had pulled him over told him he did not want to give him a ticket but the top brass had given them all orders and he had to follow them.

An Anonymous spokesman also told the protesters to uncover themselves a little more after he spoke with the police. The spokesman seemed to be trying to prevent any aggression against the police but even with his conciliatory tones, he could not help but admit the simple hostility the police seemed to expect from them. According the spokesman, the police saw the masks as a defense against them instead of the Scientologists and felt a level of hostility towards those who covered their faces more fully than others. The protesters continued to everything in their power to obey the authorities and keep the protest completely peaceful.

In the week since March 15, the video documenting this miscarriage of justice has spread across the internet and has become a topic of many other Anonymous videos. At enturbulation.org (btw, if you are at all interested in Operation Reconnect, just go there and look through the forums to find your area) the Atlanta anons are currently organizing the next protest and making sure that all necessary precautions are made to ensure that this does not happen again.

Once again, Anonymous has proven that it means no bodily harm to anyone and once again, Scientology has proven that it will stoop to any lengths to silence its critics.

Couldn't these cops be arrested if it turns out they were being paid?

Doesn't surprise me at all. What a travesty (and right down I-75 from where I live!)
