Inner Streams

Laurie Meekis
The water flows so freely,
and drifts on to the shore.
Upon the tiny ripples,
my mind begins to soar.

It moves upon its inner streams.
It dances with the wind.
It opens as a boat flows through,
and melts together again.

Dark blue in calmer weather,
brown turmoil in a storm.
Up to the rocks it wanders,
but yet it has no form.

A restless hidden being,
does hide beneath the waves,
and filled with life and deeper peace,
each restless being it saves.

The depth that it does ponder,
the places it will go.
It feeds the life within us,
that only we can know.
