Insights from the Author of Women What the Hell Are You Thinking Now?

Transform Your Thinking to Transform Your Mind

Cheryl Lacey Donovan
Donovan says her drive to write began when she worked for one of the schools "I was teaching students, many of them women, who were experiencing issues in their lives that were creating obstacles to their completing an education that could potentially transform their entire lives," Donovan says. "The problem was however many of these women were allowing these things to happen because of their poor choices and sometimes their indecisiveness."

Donovan has served in many capacity in her lifetime health care provider, educator, but it wasn't until Donovan set out on her own that she achieved the satisfaction she was looking for. "Writing books like 'The Ministry of Motherhood,' 'Do You Still Do What Happens Happily Ever After' and others has been more fulfilling than I ever imagined."

Over the years, Donovan noticed the increase of women experiencing the same turmoil over and over regardless of race, creed or color, but in the African American community in particular there didn't seem to be anyone willing to be transparent enough to speak out. Donovan says, "the bottom line is we teach people how to treat us and many of us have not done a very good job at it." How can we expect others to respect us if we don't respect ourselves? Then we have the audacity to have a pity party and be depressed when people disappoint us. We knew all along what the outcome of our poor choices would be. We simply chose to look at the world through rose colored glasses."

Donovan also has a word for those whose lives took a turn for the worst due to circumstances beyond their control. "You are a unique woman with a unique plan designed by God just for you. Understand God has chosen you for such a time as this. There is a message in your mess. Stand up and take notice of the woman that God has called you to be and never again allow Satan to trick you into the behaviors of the past. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get a move on. Your life will never move forward if you continually look back."

Cheryl's powerful affirmations target women involved in everything from abuse to single motherhood to carrying on affairs with married men. Backed by a plethora of sound scriptural support, she offers profound insight on every imaginable challenge confronting women in contemporary times, drawing parallels with similar events/times in history, as well as from the wealth of experience in her own past. Donovan even performs meticulous analysis of biblical parables, highlighting the hidden value of the undying wisdom contained therein. Detailed, straightforward, and unchecked, Donovan's personal testimony of strength and conviction is articulate, passionate, and very necessary.

Furthermore, the book gives readers the tools to help them turn their experiences into life changing messages of transformation " We are all teachers and one of the most powerful tools we have is our testimony. This book serves as a comprehensive guide to unleashing that power to create a vivid picture of people's potential.

"I've been blessed," Donovan says. "I have a career in a niche that is very fulfilling, satisfying and it allows me to give back. This book is part of that." Donovan says publishing her books has given her more visibility on a national level. She has been invited to author receptions, secured speaking engagements and received volumes of e-mail feedback from people whose lives have been changed by her message.
