Everyone says "I want to change the world", however they don't make that little step. Two quotes that always make me think of the better we can do are "The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."- Albert Einstein and "We must become the change we want to see."- Mahatma Gandhi.
As I sat here and watched television my world came into focus. People complain how rotten their lives are and yet they have no idea how wrong they truly are. I watched a show that showed me the lives of small children in Africa, they were starving, and without fresh water and left to fend for their families because their parents died of Aids or Malaria. Who are we to complain about having to eat pb&j because we had to skimp to pay the bills this week.
I think of all the tragedies surrounding us throughout the world, soldiers loosing their lives to fight for our "freedom" and I cry. Why do they have to fight? I wish we could all live in peace and harmony. When I sit and hear John Lennon's "Imagine" it makes so much sense. Religion has torn us all apart...borders and countries, laws and regulations, we made ourselves a beast. Hitler claimed to be a righteous man, killing in the name of God, killing millions of innocent people, mainly because of their belief in a higher power. I believe we aren't here to judge. We are here to love. If you choose to stand by God then do so with love, plan to make things better.
Change is all in our hands. Change the world by volunteering your time, help starving children, clean up our planet, give someone a big hug, do whatever you think can help and change the world we live in, the one our children and grandchildren will live in. Make this world a better place for them. Happiness is my goal for my children and generations to come.
I want to know I did the very best I could to make them better people and bring this world back to the way it should be. Inspiration means arousal of the mind to special unusual activity or creativity, use that creativity to change the world!
