"You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on your right cheek, turn your other one as well. This is from Mt. 5:38-39
Discussion
Just wanted to discuss with you all the meaning of this verse, through all our opinions. I personally think it means to do whatever possible to not strike back. If someone talks mean to you, then show love, and understanding even when the words are cruel about you.
I feel that if someone strikes you, you should try to get the situation under control the best way possible. If you know martial arts you could forceful, stop such behavior with hopefully no harm other than ego being bruised.
Thought I would put some food for thought out their today for people. We are constantly confronted with bullies in today's society. Children, teens, adults are always going to be faced with confronting issues. Some may tend to get violent. The best advice I could give anyone is to pray about what has come before them. Pray for immediate knowledge on the right thing to do.
Sometimes I know physical force is needed. If anyone has a thought on this discussion, please leave a comment below sharing your wisdom and knowledge.
God's words are powerful. How do you interpret the verse in this article?
Here is the link I mentioned above. I've heard this church is one if you attend you'll surely remember. My husband is Catholic; however I'm Lutheran. I love his faith as much as mine. It has become a part of me as well. I'll try to visit there soon. Then I can talk more about this great inspirational church.

Post a Commentexcellent work ♥
Very nice, Jenny!
It is tough Jenny when others view life differently. Gandhi won freedom for India through non-violence, but will it work everywhere? Mandela bore no ill will against his tormentors. He just accepted what he went through so graciously and his smile is his trademark! For me, I have patience by my side which wins most over - siva
