Inspirational and Encouraging Bible Verses

A.M. Morgan
The following bible verses have been a source of encouragement to me during my daily spiritual journey. There are moments when I am not always sure of how to respond in my own understanding to a situation so I use these verses for constant inspiration. I have found having these verses written down in a personal journal or posted some place visible helps to keep me motivated and grounded in my Christian walk. I hope these verses can inspire and encourage you as well for sharing sources of spiritual enlightenment with others is important as followers of Christ.

The following verses are taken from the New International Version of the Bible:

1. Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." This bible verse is a reminder to remain patient about receiving things when I pray. It is also a testament of remaining thankful first before seeking answers to my requests to God.

2. Psalm 139: 23:24 "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." This bible verse is something I pray daily as I interact with others and seek to improve my attitude. This verse helps me to understand many aspects of my character that may be hindering my Christian walk and spiritual development. I know that I am not always right about everything and this verse helps me to reflect on those weaknesses in my character.

3. Matthew 7: 1-2 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." This verse is a reminder to not become self-righteous and judge the actions of others with an iron fist. I remind myself of the impact of unfair judgment when someone judges me and assassinates my character based on a limited perception of me.

4. James 1: 4 "Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." This bible verse is a simple reminder that remaining persistent and devoted to allowing life lessons to make me more mature will prove to be beneficial to my growth.

5. Ecclesiastes 7:8 "The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride." This is a reminder to trust in God and know that whatever happens at the end of a journey makes me a better person in some way. Overall, I must be patient to receive the blessing of enlightenment in the end.

6. Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." This is encouragement to stay on track on doing things for God's approval instead of the worlds. It involves a transformation and renewing of my mind from things self and world centered.

The biggest source of inspiration and encouragement to me in the bible is the reoccurring theme of unconditional love and giving to others without always expecting something in return. Overall, as Philippians 4:13 states, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" and I have to be willing to listen to the Holy Spirit when it guides and convicts me.

Thank you for sharing these verses. The first one spoke to me because I seem to have so much anxiety lately. I'll remember Paul's words next time I start stressing about something stupid.
