Materials needed to make a Tic-Tac-Toe refrigerator photo frame:
- Square shaped piece of cardboard
- Fabric glue
- Acrylic paint pen
- Magnetic tape roll
- Foam alphabet shapes
- Card stock paper
- 1 Pencil
- 1 Piece of fabric
- Scissors
Step 1: Trace the shape of your square cardboard onto a piece of fabric such as a used t-shirt or pair of denim jeans. Cut out the square shape from the fabric using scissors and then glue it onto one side of your cardboard. Draw two vertical lines and two horizontal lines on the fabric side of your square shaped cardboard using a pencil or marker. The finished image should include nine squares that are identical in size, creating a blank Tic-Tac-Toe board.
Step 2: Print out your favorite inspirational quote on a piece of card stock paper. Cut out the quote from your card stock into a small square that matches the size of the center square on your Tic-Tac-Toe board. Trim four photos of you or a family member into a square that is sized to match the remaining spaces on the cardboard, using scissors. You can use photos taken at random moments or select images that mark specific milestones such as a baby's 1st year, graduations or weddings for the photo frame.
Step 3: Glue one foam "X" letter shape onto the first square in the upper left corner of your Tic-Tac-Toe layout. Repeat this process in the third square space located in the lower right corner. Glue one foam "O" letter shape in the upper right corner of the game board and an additional one in the lower left space. Attach one photo in each of the center square spaces located in the first and third horizontal rows using glue. Repeat this process using the remaining photos for the center square spaces located in the first and third vertical rows. Attach the inspirational quote to the remaining center square of your Tic-Tac-Toe design using glue.
Step 4: Draw two new vertical lines and two new horizontal lines on your completed photo frame using an acrylic paint pen. The new lines will help to separate the appearance of each photo within your Tic-Tac-Toe layout. You can also use four thin strips of denim fabric or ribbon material as a substitute for the paint pen. Allow all elements on the fabric covered side of your photo frame to dry and then attach magnetic tape to the back of the cardboard. Display the finished Tic-Tac-Toe photo frame on a refrigerator.
