Glass Block Shower Wall Step 1: Begin by determining the area in which you want the glass block shower wall to extend.

Glass Block Shower Wall Step 2: Make sure that the floor is clean where you will be placing the glass block. The mortar will adhere to concrete floors as well as to a wood floor.

Glass Block Shower Wall Step 3: Using the trowel, apply a layer of mortar about 1 inch thick to the surface of the floor in which the glass block shower wall will be placed on. The mortared area should be as wide as the glass block and about 2 feet long to begin with. Do not lay more than two feet of mortar at once as it will set up fast and you may find that it sets faster than you can apply the block.

Glass Block Shower Wall Step 4: Begin laying the glass block into the mortar. Using the trowel, apply mortar to the side of the glass block to then place another glass block next to the first one.

Glass Block Shower Wall Step 5: Using the level, make sure that you have placed the blocks level on the mortar. You should lay the level on top of the blocks to check that they are level.

Glass Block Shower Wall Step 6: Continue laying blocks along the floor until you have created the base of a wall that is the length that you desire.

Glass Block Shower Wall Step 7: Continue checking the level of the blocks every time you place a new block onto the line.

Glass Block Shower Wall Step 8: To create the second row up begin by placing mortar on the top of the glass blocks that you have laid and then apply blocks to the mortar in the same manner as you did in steps 4-8.

Glass Block Shower Wall Step 9: If you notice that any blocks happen to be unlevel you can use the rubber mallet to gently tamp down the block and then checks the levelness again. Continue doing this with every block to assure a 100% level glass block wall in the shower.
