Instant Tip to Improve Your Golf Swing

Rocky Hills
Have you noticed the one thing that all coaches tell their ball players, whether it is basketball, baseball, football or soccer? That one thing is "keep your eye on the ball." Well, this is especially true for golf. In other sports it means you just missed the ball, but in golf you not only have a good chance of missing the ball but also of losing your balance. So what should you do if you want to improve your golf swing?

There are so many things going on when you are getting ready to swing the club but you must focus on the ball. The best way to do that is to look at one small spot on the ball. Keep you head down and do not look at how you are swinging the club.

Some important things to consider is that you must look down on the ball rather than watching the club head. If you are looking down at the ball you will not raise your shoulders which will give you better balance. Looking down at one part of the ball, keeping your shoulders down will help you have a more successful shot.

But the bad news is that we all have a natural need to look away from the ball when we begin to pull the club back. So it is important to ignore that feeling and keep your eye on the ball. Why we have this tendency, I just don't know. But it is vital in a good swing to not look away. Looking away makes for an uncontrolled shot.

Before you take that swing it does help to look at where you want the ball to go. In fact, most pro golfers picture how the flight will go before they hit the ball. But the most important factor is to keep your eye on the ball. The moment that you take your eye off the ball is the moment your troubles are beginning.

You always heard that the key to a good golf game is concentration. By that it means to focus on the ball and not on your surroundings. While preparing for your swing, do not think of anything but the game and your swing. Picture where you want the ball to land, take the shot in your mind. But always keep your focus on the ball.

Most mistakes during a golf game can be attributed to that lack of concentration. If you keep your focus on the game and especially on the ball you will have a better chance to have a good hit. Isn't that what you really want?
