Instructions for Setting Up Outlook 2003 to Receive Exchange 2003 Email Using RPC Over HTTPS

Select the Email option from Control Panel. Do this INSTEAD of opening Outlook 2003 from its icon. This will give you full access to the settings you need to change.

Select the option to setup e-mail accounts and directories

Select the option to "Add a new e-mail account" and hit next

Select that you will be working with a "Microsoft Exchange Server".

Type the name of your exchange server. This information should be obtained from your Exchange administrator

Then type in the user's name for which you are setting up the account.

Select "More Settings..."

Select the Connection tab

Choose the type of connection you will be using. In this example we are connecting over a Local Area Network or LAN. Check with your network administrator for questions about this setting.

On the Connection tab, choose to Connect to your Exchange mailbox using HTTP

Select "Exchange Proxy Settings..."

In the "Connection settings" area, type in the URL of your Exchange server's Secure HTTP site.

Under Proxy authentication settings choose the proper authentication type given to you by your Exchange Administrator. In this example we use Basic Authentication.

Click on OK to close the wizard

Now open Outlook 2003 from its icon and check for new email.
