Use colored paper
A light color is best but white just won't make it. Your letter will get lost in the pile and might only be seen by an elf. Find a pale yellow, light pink or blue or some other pastel color.
Print your letters clearly
You may write cursive letters very well but you don't want to take a chance that Santa won't be able to understand every word. So print carefully.
Use colored ink
This is why you want a light colored paper. Santa loves letters in red or purple or any other really bright color.
Got glitter?
You can tell by all the Christmas lights and beautiful decorations that Santa likes things that shine. So take the time to make your letter really special and put some glitter on it.
Use the right address
Santa's address is Santa Claus, The North Pole. That will be sufficient to get your letter there. Put the note in an envelope and print the address clearly. Don't worry about the stamp. During the holiday the post office sends letters addressed to the North Pole for free.
Decide what you want the most
You can ask for as many things as you want but keep in mind that he has a lot of kids to bring things to and couldn't possibly carry all that. Make sure you tell him what the one thing is that you really really want. It never hurts to be very clear about important stuff like that.
Let your parents read it before you mail it
They can make sure the spelling is right and the letters are written clearly. If you can't write clearly maybe they can help you write the letter.
Tell him what you have done this year
You know Santa gives the best stuff to good boys and girls. Don't assume he knows. Just in case he forgot, remind him about what you did that was good. It might make a difference between coal in your stocking and a big shiny box to open.
Take your time and do it right. You want to make a good impression.
