Insurance Companies that Carry International Medical Coverage

Round trip ticket, check, passport, check, hotel reservations and transportation arrangements done, check, trip interruption coverage, maybe, international medical coverage, say what??? I already have medical coverage. Won't it cover my needs? In this country, yes, your insurance will cover you. However, out of this country, most often it won't cover you.

Unless you've done a bit of traveling out of this country and have done some reading and researching on traveling out of this country or have been informed by someone in the know, you may not realize that most domestic medical policies Do Not cover a medical need outside of this country. The coverage most often stops at the border.

I'm listing several websites that either carry one brand or several brands of medical insurance. Some of them also cover more exotic travel arrangements such as dangerous areas of this globe, long term work related or high hazard behavior situations.

Travel Insurance:

One thing you need to understand is that these products are usually designated as secondary or primary. Primary means that this insurance will cover your need first. Secondary means that this product will only
become useful after whatever other coverage you have has been used. Most of the sites require you to request a quote based on your particular needs and location.

Cheap Travel Insurance:

The insurance offered on this site is for business travel, frequent travel, hazardous travel and sports travel.

Coverage is offered for all kinds of insurance from health, annual, multi-trip, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, student study abroad, trip cancellation and baggage.

Travelex Insurance:

This company offers several policies from one trip to annual coverage to trip interruption/cancellation/delay insurance as well as baggage, medical, emergency evacuation and upgrades on the chosen coverage.

World Travel Center:

This site provides annual insurance for frequent travelers, options for hazardous locations, occupations or situations as well as Medijet evacuation.

Seven Corners:

Various options are offered for trip, medical, student, missionary, worldwide, multi-trip and emergency evacuation among other types of coverage. This company is also used as the carrier for other company's'
insurance offerings.

SquareMouth Compare Travel Insurance:

This site lists all of the available insurances from around eighteen top providers who cover all areas of travel whether it involves health, trip or flight insurance among other choices.

I checked out some of the specific coverages and found that they can vary widely in cost and what is covered. I was required to get a quote based on my state and my age. There can also be restrictions on how much liability
is allowed when you are above a certain age, for some of these policies.
