Intangible

A.M. Ning
Everything you say stretches into miles and miles,
across the skyline, ocean waves, and the desert sand.
You remind me of the bitter aftertaste of dark chocolate,
full of deceit, guilt, betrayal, and loss of innocence.

Let the storms pass over our fragile hearts when
we fall in love, fall apart, and fall to pieces.
I'm sorry about losing faith, losing patience and
losing any sense of self. but oh, i really can't help.

Raindrops on my rooftop, the song track to my life,
full of slow beats, sad melodies, and nostalgic memories.
I'd be lying if I told you none of this was your fault,
but thats the price to pay for candor or maybe just naivety.

I'm no Cinderella and you'd put prince charming to shame.
Not the typical fairytale, more like an ultimatum
destined to crash and burn. Reckless and wanted,
you are not weighed down by responsibility or obligations.

Today anything goes and tomorrow comes as it may.
I stand in front of you, trying to stay angry and failing fast.
Everything you are washes over me like a tidal wave
like a tsunami burying any thoughts, any doubts.
