Integrating Subjects

The more exposure students have to math and science, and technology, the better off they'll be in the long run. When these subjects are integrated, they can be related to each other which will make the information easier for students to understand and retain. If I had math and science integrated to my other subjects, I know I would be better at them today. I was only exposed to math in my math classes, and I always felt that it wasn't enough time for math. Making integrated units is a little harder than making a unit just for one subject, but it's well worth the little bit of extra time and effort. When students are learning, they're less likely to be disruptive or act out in the classroom, which means that time will be saved on classroom management.

It's important to incorporate technology into all subjects so that students can become as comfortable with technology as possible. However, students should not be over exposed to technology since they shouldn't be made to become too dependent on technology. Even elementary schoolers can do simple, small power point projects, and they can type up their papers or reports using a word program.

When these subjects are integrated, students can learn scientific vocabulary words in language arts, do scientific word problems in math class, work with temperature numbers in math class, and they can also play educational math and science games on the computer. These are only a few small examples and there are many more!
