For the desktop computers "Intel" introduced the four core processor i5 670: 3.46 GHz, ($284); i5 661: - 3.33 GHz, ($196); i5 660 - 3.33 GHz, ($196) and i5 650: 3.2 GHz, ($176). All processors support the Turbo Boost technology. Intel entered the market also with lower-cost processors, which form the "Core i3" family. They are the i3 540: 3.06 GHz, ($133) and i3 530: 2.93 GHz, ($113) processors, although they do not support the Turbo Boost technology, but they have "HyperThreading".
All of these processors have 73-watt TDP, but one, "Core i5" 661, has an 83-watt TDP. It uses more energy resources due to the fact that it is integrated with a graphics chip that uses a higher frequency. All other integrated graphics chips have a frequency of 733MHz, while the "Core i5" 661 works with 900MHz.
Laptop processors
There are even more new processors from "Intel" for laptop computers than for desktop versions. The company introduced five "Core i7" family members, they are: 620M: 2.66 GHz, ($332), 35 W; 640LM: 2.13 GHz, ($332), 25 W; 620LM: 2 GHz, ($300), 25 W; 640UM: 1.2 GHz, ($305), 18 W and 620UM: 1.06 GHz, ($278), 18 W. Three of the new "Core i5" series: 540M: 2.53 GHz, ($257), 35 W; 520M: 2.4 GHz, ($225), 35 W and 520UM: 1.06 GHz, ($241), 18 W, and three of the "Core i3": 430M: 2.26 GHz, 35 W; 350M: 2.26 GHz, 35 W and 330M: 2.13 GHz, 35 W. All mobile processor supports the "HyperThreading" technology, but only i5 and i7 models have the Turbo Boost function.
