Intelligence Vs Wisdom

Which One Are You?

Intelligence vs. Wisdom

Intelligence versus Wisdom, a very good combination of words. Intelligence from my perspective is one's ability to learn and apply knowledge to deal with new or trying situations, as well as, applying knowledge to manipulate one's environment and think abstractly; having mental acuteness. On the other hand, wisdom naturally lay in a different area of conversation. Wisdom is a combination of all that is offered in having intelligence along with having the ability to make relevant and right choices in life. Wisdom at it's best is the ability to use and understand knowledge in an effort to help others or minimize the effect of one's own actions. Wisdom is something that we all believe many elder men and women have in this life time. Wisdom is known as experiences that have been seen and survived through with applying it to help a young man or woman make wise decisions. Having intelligence is known as book smarts and knowing how to get by in this world by knowledge of the way this world works. For example; an intelligent hip-hop artist, who calls himself TI, was recently jailed. Although he is intelligent, he lacks wisdom. He dealt with individuals who he should not have in doing illegal business in gun sales. He got caught up in the mix of bad deals. He knew how to manipulate the system to get less timed served but lacked wisdom to not get in the situation in the beginning. TI is a hip hop artist who many of our teenagers and adolescents look up too. To many, hip hop artist, TI is an icon and this has set a bad example. I believe he will have much wisdom after his time served.
