Interesting Uses for Beer

Chances are some time in your life you've had a beer. You may even have it in your fridge now. Whether or not you're a fan of beer, there are some quite interesting uses for this extremely popular beverage that you possibly haven't heard of.

Take a bath in it. Beer can soften your skin, so take a six pack of beer and dump it in the bathtub. Mix it up with your bathwater, sit in it and relax. I wouldn't suggest doing this before going outside in the summer as bees are attracted to beer.

Use beer as a relaxing foot soak. Just like it works to soften your entire body it works just as well on your feet. Put two cans of beer into a basin and fill the rest of the basin with warm water. Put your feet in and relax for awhile. Your feet will be relaxed and the skin will be softer when you're finished.

You can also shampoo your hair with it. Put in one fourth of a cup of beer into a saucepan and boil it for a couple of minutes. Take it off the heat and let it reduce so the alcohol burns out of it. When the beer cools, take one fourth of a cup of shampoo and mix it together. Wash your hair as usual.

Marinate with beer. For an hour before cooking your meat, soak it in the beer. It makes the meat more tender and adds a hit of flavor. Not only can you marinate it with it, you can also add a splash of it when you are making soup.

Use beer as a fertilizer for your plants. Pour it on the brown patches on your lawn or pour a little into houseplants. Don't overdo this as adding too much and doing it too frequently will kill the plants instead.

If you have a slug problem in your garden beer can help you eliminate them. Take a medium sized glass container and fill it up halfway with beer. Go into your garden where you have a slug problem, dig a hole and put the container in. Bury the container up to the edge so that the top it is on even level with the rest of the ground. Make sure that it is uncovered. Snails are attracted to beer and will crawl into the containers.

Who ever knew that beer was so useful and that there were so many things you could do with it? If all else fails, just drink the beer.
