America Holds an annual Male Model Competition for males aged 18 to 33 held by www.pageantcrown.com . In these competitions there are certain things you should know before entering. There is usually a $250 participation fee and a $100 fee to go along with it. On top of that, participants must find their own housing, and transportation. As with any business a bio or resume is needed as information about who you are. In addition, two photos in black and white or color, full body photo in your favorite ensemble, and one in swim trunks or shorts. Basically the same routine the ladies have to go through is what the males should expect. One thing that surprises me is the fact that the only competitions seen on television are the female ones.
Does this mean that females are more interesting than males? Of course, it seems so to the male population, but what about the ladies? The truth behind this lack of male models is that it is more difficult for males to make it as supermodels. In fact, the pay male models receive is less than what the females receive, as in the length of their careers. Beautiful males who pose for underwear, vehicles, fashion, cigarettes, motorcycles and other male products only last for a few years. The traits of a great body, attractive face and masculine manliness is not enough. The basic requirement for height for male models are 5'11 to 6'2 with weight no less than 140 or more than 165 pounds. However, since this business does not cater very much to these men they seek other work in films and commercials.
The male models are said to run past their primes, and therefore the interest in them fades. Perhaps, if more attention was focused on the males by televised pageants it could boost their careers. Instead of wanting a new fresh face on the catwalk, the world will learn to adore the male models they see. The reason for this is that reality shows allows the public to see the television personalities as real. Therefore, when the modeling industry decides to promote the males in the business the public will embrace them also. Male models in a pageant showcasing their talents, looks and intellect would be such a treat that has been long over due for the female population. It is high time that we give them the same attention that the females receive. After all, who wouldn't want to view a heartthrob on TV?
