Not too long ago, they created a global event on Facebook entitled "International 'That's What She Said' Day."
Facebook, a Mark Zuckerberg creation, was originally intended for colleges and universities across the United States. After immense popularity in the higher education arena, the phenomenon spread to high schools and other educational institutions worldwide.
Beginning with just a few members and limited potential for personalization, Facebook has grown enormously into the vast community of today.
"That's what she said" has received similar recent attention. Intended as a statement with varying sexual innuendoes, since its creation, use of the term has skyrocketed. Although its direct establishment and original usage is undetermined, the phrase has received significant recognition after its appearance on both The Office and King of the Hill.
UrbanDictionary.com offers the following definition of the phrase:
"That's what she said!"
- Used to add sexual innuendo to a conversation.
- When a male wants to share with his friends that he was with a girl (whether her was or not), he will respond to a phrase that sets up "that's what she said..." as funny or sexual.
- To imply that what is being talked about was actually a sexual statement and that a girl agreed to said statement in the recent past.
- Something people say after a phrase is said by someone else to add emphasis.
- A phrase said by one male to another after a story about her was told to imply that he was with the first male's girl after him.
The first time I heard the phrase was five years ago, during a walk across the Penn State campus. I was with a group of friends, and we passed a building called Davey Laboratory. One friend, recalling an earlier event, began, "When we were on top of Davey..." to which another friend quickly interjected, "That's what she said!"
Hughes and Scott, co-creators of "International 'That's What She Said' Day" have listed the following scenarios as possible times to interrupt casual conversation with the phrase:
- Your local cinema; movies are packed with times to loudly blurt out this zippy one-liner. For example:
James Bond: "Shaken, not stirred."
You (Yelling and standing up): "That's what she said."
- While checking out at the cash register
Cashier: "Would you like any cash back?"
You (winking): "That's what she said."
Set to occur internationally wherever people are speaking, you too can take part in this event if you wish.

Post a Commenttalking about The OFFICE, look what I found: http://worldbestboss.spreadshirt.com/
I was at an Indian restaurant with a friend and the server asks him how spicy he wants his food. My friend replies "I prefer it spicy"
me: "That's what she said!"
I go to Indiana University and there's acutally a column in our school paper everyday titled "That's what she said." It's students quoting professors, coaches etc, responding with "that's what she said" It's great!
Check that, last night, not last not.

I would like to point out that although this phrase did, indeed, certainly get a lot of attention from The Office, it is certainly not a new phrase. I was watching Wayne's World last not, and Wayne used it while their show was being filmed.
at an exam, my teacher told us "this is a hard one, it might take a while for you to finish"///// we choired "that's what she said"

If you really wanna screw it up you could say Thats What Jesus Said.
This is a huge deal in my [grown-up] circle of friends.
Most recent one...
Friend: "That's probably why it's hard, because you use it all the time."
Me: "That's what she said!"
XD
a guy in my choir class says that at least once a day... i was always wondering where it came from..
