Internet Marketing

Proven Methods for Success

Jeff Bauer
Internet marketing can seem a daunting task when you are new to it. Internet marketing is not as difficult as it may seem. You can do it but it will take a commitment to learning all that you can and working hard each day. I will discuss a few methods that I have learned. These are marketing strategies that are being used everyday by the experts to earn good incomes.

We are all selling something or we wouldn't be interested in marketing. It doesn't matter if you are selling products or services. It doesn't matter if you are selling your own product or another's through affiliate sales. The goal is the same, to get your message to the masses. Products simply will not sell if no one knows about them. There is more to internet marketing than putting up a slick website and waiting. For this article I will focus on low cost or free methods because most starting out simply do not have huge advertising budgets. By the way, free and low cost does not mean ineffective. It is my experience that these methods are just as effective and most times more effective than the big budget ads.

One of the best ways to get your message out is to write articles. Submit these articles to article directories and publish articles to your blog. Writing good articles will establish you as an authority in your field. The key here is to actually be knowledgeable on your subject so learn all you can. You should also write toward a narrow subject, avoid too broad of a subject. Keep your articles short and concise, between 250-800 words, more than this and you will lose your readers.

Another great way to get your message out is to include a link to your website or blog in the footer of your emails and forum posts. Most forums I have found do not allow self promotion in the body of the post but will allow usually 3-5 links in the footer of your post. Be sure to read the rules of the forum so you won't be banned for spamming. Please do not spam email addresses or forum posts. Spam is easy to pick out and will not get you any quality responses. Spamming will also result in getting you banned from forums and your email cancelled.

Classified ads get your message in front of many eyes. Classified ads can be very expensive if you are trying to reach a large market. Avoid the paid ads until you have an ad that is proven to bring in good results. You can post free classifieds at craigslist. I highly recommend this to be your first stop for classified advertising. Craigslist is very popular. If your are not familiar with this website, just Google "craigslist".

There are many other methods for internet marketing; the strategies above are a great starting point. Just remember to do something everyday and keep your focus, in time you will see results.

These are great tips for internet marketing. I did want to add that while writing articles and submitting them to directories is great for traffic and for being found on search engines(provided you link appropriately in the articles) you need to have a strategy. Google doesn't like duplicate content, so you can really only post an article on 4 or 5 directories. Past that, and you risk being moved down the search engine results pages.

Thanks for the tips on internet marketing. I visit the Craigslist a lot for writing gigs, but it never crossed my mind to advertise my writing services there. I'll have to do this on my next marketing adventure, which will be soon. Thanks again! By the way, I've added you to my favorites.
