What is Internet and/or Network Marketing?
Let's first start with Network Marketing because there is a slight difference. Network Marketing refers to MLM (Multi-Level-Marketing), Affiliate Marketing, and Direct Sales (all closely linked). All require that you "build relationships" for business on or offline. Network Marketing has been around offline for years and the "old-timers" know tactics that have been proven to work "for some". Unfortunately, most have failed. About 97% have failed, to be precise. This could be for a variety of reasons. A lot of people in the industry say its "lack of training" - I completely agree - however I also think some other attributes play a huge role in one's success as well. Somebody I look up to is a man named Tony Robbins and he once had an interview with Frank Kern and John Reese in which he spoke on the importance of CERTAINTY. People simply do not believe (or are not certain) that the program/business is going to work. Most of the time they EXPECT IT TO FAIL. We all know that if we believe we can or we can't, either way we are right. The mind is the most powerful organ in the human body and this example of expecting to fail becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It comes true again and again until the person just gives up entirely and says "this does not work. I told you so" - HAHA - "People have one of two things: Results or a Story" - Tony Robbins

Internet Marketing is a "form" of Network Marketing that leverages online social media, blogging, attraction, and so much more. It would take a lifetime to learn everything involved in the processes of this industry. We can begin with the basics however.
Here are a few tips to get you started:
First of all, DO NOT:
1. Spam
2. Hassle your friends & family
3. Hassle anybody within 3 feet of you ("the three foot rule")
4. Buy Leads
Here is a list of TO-DO's:
1. Create a Blog and/or Website
2. Obtain an Official Domain in which will make you appear more professional and also help brand yourself online.
3. Provide Value (via blogging and social media syndication: twitter, myspace, facebook, digg, delicious, stumble upon and so much more). People will begin to be attracted to you (thus "Attraction Marketing")
4. Utilize an Autoresponder to generate YOUR OWN leads (note: create landing/capture pages)
5. Build relationships with the people you meet online. Do not just meet them and say "sign up for this" or "buy that" ...
6. Participate in Affiliate Marketing "that fits in line with your goals, values, beliefs, morals, NICHE, etc." (You do not want to just promote ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. Besides, people will respect you more if you are selective.)
Building genuine relationships in social media and providing value are two of the top golden nuggets to lead generation and ultimately your success in internet-network marketing.
