Date of Interview: 1-25-2008
Thank you Ms. Katrina for agreeing to have this interview. You look nervous, why are you nervous?

Katrina: I'm not nervous. I'm just not used to being interviewed. Please don't call it an interview, that's weird.

What qualities do you think we need in our new president?

Katrina: Somebody who cuts down taxes. Someone who can control people. If someone goes crazy they can do something about it. I saw on the news this guy broke into a lady's house and stabbed her puppy because she broke up with him. Our president should be nice. They should cut prices on everything.

What do you think is the most important problem facing America today?

Katrina: The wars. The battles. Killing all of our people for no reason. World War 2 and the other wars. Let's talk it out. Talking is the solution.

What's you favorite t.v. show?

Katrina: N.B.B.

What's that?

Katrina: The Naked Brothers Band...N.B.B. Dad, that's what everyone calls them. It's comedy. Rosalina is sarcastic. I like it because it makes me excited. Something unexpected is going to happen.

Why do kids like animals so much?

Katrina: (Big smile) When you're lonely you have somebody to talk to. When you're not feeling good your pet loves you. It's like a friend or companion. My favorite animals are cats, dogs, hampsters, and birds. Cats, the way they act, they act in a funny way. If one cat is running the other cat won't chase it until it stops.

Why do you like Webkinz? What's so special about it?

Katrina: Well you buy stuff, you talk to other kids even though you can't see them - oh and where you can talk to them is in the clubhouse. I can take care of my animal.

If you could make one big wish what would it be?

Katrina: That people were not cruel to animals.

If you could change your name to any other name what would it be?

Katrina: Trina. My nickname. It reminds me of a tree.

Tell me your favorite subject in school and why do you like it?

Katrina: Reading. Because you learn about people, you can read stories. Pick up a book when you get bored. My favorite books are The Magic Treehouse.

What is the funnest thing you have ever done?

Katrina: It was my birthday. I made a wish in a wishing well and I couldn't figure out where we were driving. When we got there I saw little kittens running around everywhere and mom said, "Pick a Kitten". That was great. That's when I got Max.

What is your favorite Place?

Katrina: The snow in Ohio. We made a snowman and tried to bring it home in the car and it melted everywhere. Do you remember?

Sounds like she'd make a much better president than Bush! She's already smart enough to know that war isn't the answer to everything.

She sounds like such a mature young lady and perhaps presidency is in her future. Great idea for an article.

Seriously .... what a great little girl. And you've - once again - confirmed my belief that you're a fantastic Dad. This was such a cool idea, and something you can easily save and smile over for years to come.

Somebody who cuts down taxes. Our president should be nice. They should cut prices on everything.

A fiscally conservative nine year old girl. So funny!
