Interview with Roderick P. Robinson: Ex-Convict Turned Prison Rights Activist

When Roderick P. Robinson was incarcerated in Ohio prisons, he claims to have been both physically and psychologically abused at the hands of prison guards, and staff. He claims to have proof of the corruption of America's prison system in this shocking interview.

Roderick P. Robinson is a 60 year old gentleman currently living in Florida. Since serving time in Ohio prisons he is now actively trying to change the corruption he feels went on there with the guards and inmates. An ex convict, turned prison rights activist, Rod spends a great deal of his time trying to "right the wrong."

Here is an interview with Rod, conducted by email, because he has way to much to say to have done this by phone. These are Rod's words, and his allegations. I think you will find this interview interesting, and at some points shocking. Some of his text was taken from his written journal, and he is using it here for this interview. He speaks about his arrest, conviction, his time in prison where inmates were abused by guards, some even murdered, and about The Lucasville Riot.

I have withheld the names and used only initials for this interview. These are solely the words of Roderick P. Robinson, and he swears them to be true.

Roderick, please tell us your story. About your incarceration in Ohio's prisons, and your allegations against prison staff.

The undersigned affiant, Roderick P. Robinson, being first duly sworn, hereby deposes and says:

I am over the age of eighteen, suffer no legal disabilities, have personal knowledge of the facts set forth below, and am competent to testify.

On circa May, 12.1995. I was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada on a kidnap charge allegedly from the state of Ohio by Clark County's police department. They had an extradition order for my arrest from the state of Ohio for a kidnap charge, which was the sole and only charge leveled against me. At the time of my arrest I asked the officer to retrieve my prescription eye glasses from my vehicle. My request was denied. I emphasized to the arresting officer the glasses were prosthetic eye ware. The officer denied me again. I was also for a time, denied my chronic medications which was Darvon, used for chronic back pain. I had a medically confirmed spinal condition and end bearing pressure to my right stump, an amputated right foot.(1975.)

Clark County detectives lied to me alleging Ohio had an extradition order for me to to be returned to Ohio. I was coerced into signing what I thought was Ohio's extradition order, but it turned out to be a Las Vegas extradition order. During the transport the transport officer informed me the charge had been changed from kidnap to child stealing. I was never released from custody. I did not agree to transport on the new charges. I was never heard within the requisite by law, 180 days on the initial sole charge of kidnap.

Once I arrived in the state of Ohio. During Judge G. screamed at Detective C."Where is the evidence on this man"! "W here is the evidence on this man"! at the hearing. So a case was manufactured against me and Judge G. appointed an attorney to help build a case against me. Notwithstanding, appointed counsel Attorney G. Initially confided in me he was perplexed about not finding an indictment on me of any kind. I explained by reason I'm not guilty of the charges knowing I was being railroaded by the state of Ohio. Hence, Attorney G. didn't retrieve medical records as I requested, and other exculpatory evidence in my defense so I opted to plead out for six months time and, hire an Attorney.

By reason, the former mayor in 1994 in Lorian, Ohio, O's twin sons were involved in gross sexual imposition, assault, and kidnap on my ex girl friend Loretta M. at former Mary's cafe. 28th St., Lorain, Ohio. Michael R. who represented Loretta, recounted, that [city hall staff] were talking about me, admonishing if I didn't stop trying to expose the Mayors sons, for what they did to Loretta.[M..] If they (police) get anything on me, they said they are going to put me away for a long time. The Mayors sons were never arrested for their part in the kidnap, beating, or sexual assault.

Post, my release from prison. June 03.2003. Going through my ex girlfriends old case concerning the kidnap, only to discover Judge G. was the same judge who over saw that case also. Then a revelation hit me. Judge G. was behind the prison staff attempting to murder me. By reason he did nothing in the case where my ex girl friend was brutally beaten by former Mayor O's sons. I say this by reason the six month plea agreement turned in to 8 years, and 13 attempts on my life. By inmates non acquaintance, of no retributive reason, prison staff made several attempts also. Several letters to Judge G. pleading for a transfer, my life. By placing me under house arrest went on deaf ears. In fact a message from Judge G. sent via Attorney, W. Avon Lake, Ohio informing me Judge G. wanted me to do a little more time.

Moreover, records will provide Judge G. did everything he could to keep me in prison. By evidence provided, the prison staff held up my legal work on appeals, and gave my incoming legal work to another inmate,Maurice P. who's name and number bear no resemblance to my own, all to forestall my efforts for respite, in an attempt to save my own life. Evidence provides, this inmate Gus B., was initially instrumental in availing me, but S.O.C.F. Lucasville staff offered him a parole from a maximum security prison Lucasville's S.O.C.F. in an attempt to sabotage my civil and criminal cases, both of which were slated for a win. And that did happen, and part of my original document evidence was destroyed. Then I was set up by Lucasville staff to get into a fight, C.O. H. lied, alleging he saw me swinging and fighting, and wrestling to the floor with another wheelchair inmate.

The prison staff, in their ongoing efforts to debilitate me from the onset, had rendered me to a wheelchair for my 8 year tenure. Notwithstanding my being ambulant upon entering the system, stopping of chronic medications for no obvious reason, and Ignoring contraindication of two previous institutions.

Concerning The Lucasville Riot:
More attempts on my life ensued, when it was discovered by a prison staff member, who I believe his name was C.O. S., who confided in me circa, 2002 about the 1993 Lucasville Riot. He claimed the riot was not initiated by prison inmates, but by prison staff who were reportedly, going to be investigated by Washington, DC. Subsequent the theft of inmates property, gold jewelry, money orders, and clothing. This officer alleges to have personally eyewitnessed staff throwing file loads, and file loads of prison documents onto fires that they themselves had started. Additionally, he recounted about being shocked when he found out that the prison staff had colluded with members of the Muslim Sec.,letting a few of them out of their cells, as the ostensible perpetrators of the Lucasville Riot.

It is my understanding it cost our government and tax payers of the state of Ohio 10 million dollars to secure a prison, that had previously met that requirement.

PRISON STAFF CAUGHT LACING MEDICATION WITH INTENT TO MURDER, TO COVER FOR THE FALLACIOUS CHARGES LEVELED AGAINST ME.

On yet another occasion circa last trimester 2000 to Jan 2001of being poisoned. I was dispensed liquid medication, Cascara, a purgative. Again, I had been placed in punitive segregation. Obviously, this is where Administrative/ correctional staff, like to do their dirty work, being that its a little more secluded from general population. In conjunction with my being disabled, I was placed in a cell where a camera was positioned on me 24/7 so prison staff could watch me at all times. Perplexedly, over time I developed acute heart pain. I couldn't figure out where it stemmed from until nurse Mary S. of Lucasvilles, SOCF,atypical of her behavior, demanded to have the dispensing cup back, subsequent my walking away with it.

Shocked at her tirade over a simple cup, the size of a shot glass, these same cups, over previous years were left with me, by several different nurses, including nurse, Mary S.. I retorted, "Why are you so eager to get this cup back?" [the cup had residue from the poison]. Then I shut up! Realizing I might tip them off, thinking this is where my heart pain stemmed from. Hence medical records prior to my incarceration, provided my heart was fine. So I decided to forego the chronic medication, but feigned dosing it. How I did that was, when medical staff came to dispense the medication, I would take a drinking cup. With my back to the staff, I would go over to the sink and turn the water on, positioning the cup in front of the stream of water to give the appearance I was filling it with water. I then wrapped my hand around the cup, to prevent medical and corrections staff from detecting the cup was actually empty. At the cell bars, I retrieved the small dispensing cup and threw my head back, feigning to drink its content and immediately placed the empty drinking cup to my mouth and moving my adams apple to feign swallowing the laced medication. All the while, spitting it back into the drinking cup, and walking back to the sink nonchalantly, placing the drinking cup on the the sink and returning to my bunk resuming my game of solitary, or entries into my daily journals.

Now prior to this, I had saved an empty 3"x6"plastic milk bag, cutting a small piece of one of the corners to empty its content, milk. I sterilized it with bleach. Making a paper funnel I poured the laced Cascara into the plastic bag. After saving up a couple of weeks or more, of this laced medication, I hermetically sealed the bag with a lighter. Making sure no air could get in or out assuring none of the laced Cascara would leak, I then taped the bag of laced Cascara bag in between my legal papers, and mailed them to the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, Ohio. During this time my heart pain vanished.

Exhibit A. Please do not remove exhibit A. from the plastic bag. It is sealed in such a manner so as to deter tampering. The evidence is Cascara, inside a 3x6 plastic bag in a motion to judge Potter U.S District Court, Northern District Court Toledo Ohio. The suspected laced cascara induced heart pain. Deduced by petitioner, through the process of elimination, and the fact SOCF staff had scheduled 3 medical round trips to Cardiology, petitioner had not previously consented to, nor discussed. (I refused to go on. To do so would have been pure folly, hence it would availed them in building a medical history of staff helping me for heart pain that I never told them I was experiencing.) Then In the event of my untimely demise, staff would have pulled up my medical history to say they had been trying to help me. But God gave me the prevision to see what they were up to long ago. This is how they have murdered those who no longer have a voice and gotten away with it.] The Ohio State medical board has evidence supporting petitioner's allegations. Post, my release from prison, at my request, a Cardiologist ran a stress test on me, confirming I had had a heart attack in my past. I submit to you, the medical staff named herein this journal, were the perpetrators who did this to me. Here is the link to Roderick P. Robinson's journal

Staff knew I had previous cases in Judge, P.'s Court. So as a diversionary tactic, I mailed this evidence to the Sixth Circuit Court of appeals. Naive, thinking with such profound evidence as attempted murder, that theSixth Circuit Court, would rush it over to the Court for which it was intended. Little did I know then the courts, et al. were involved too. Now here's the really perplexing part, based on my deduction my evidence never left the institution. I say this by reason, and I'm sure you'll concur. After viewing the following transcript letter from the clerk, that did in fact, come from the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Cincinnati, Ohio. Received stamped by SOCF, APRIL 19,2001:

"Dear, Mr. Robinson, The clerk's office received a ss1983 complaint which should have been filed with the district court. The complaint also had attached a bag with what looked like blood. No matter what you thought the effect would be---and I'm assuming it was done for shock value-blood or any other bodily fluid is not an acceptable attachment to a court document. Any court document. Everything is being returned to you, don't even think about mailing it or any similar fluid-filled packages to the Clerk's office again."

Now if you'll recall, the page, of the 15 page motion attached to the laced Cascara was very concise as to the content of the bag. So, If Janis E. Y. actually saw the evidence first hand, how could she possibly assume it contained blood? I couldn't have been more explicit concerning the bags content, of having laced, Cascara.

Now Sgt. M. (female) SOCF, Didn't have me sign for the foregoing, ostensible returned evidence, which is atypical of ODRC policy, and even more non pulsed is the fact that SOCF staff didn't give me back my original motions. Clearly this was for the sole purpose of sweeping this whole matter under the rug. Now you know THE TRUTH! all these inmates purportedly dying of massive heart attacks in the prisons were, without question, murdered in much the same way these attempts were made on me. Now I purposefully left out some information by reason in the event this matter gets into court. and staff attempt to replicate that bag of laced cascara. I have a big surprise for them. But if it doesn't get into the courts I'll reveal other things I did, to counter their artifices in the book. As I stated in the foregoing, during the time I was saving the laced Cascara my heart pain vanished. And as I've indicated in the body of my journal.. medical staff set up 3 unbidden trips to cardiology. I refused to go on these trips by reason, had I gone, in the event staff succeeded in murdering me, I would have helped them with medical records supporting I had a heart problem, I was written up for not going, but those write-ups were later rescinded. For obvious reasons.

As pro se Complainant. I, Roderick P. Robinson, reserve the right amend, by the adding witnesses, defendants, and new evidence to this complaint, without leave of court prior to trial.

Roderick, Did you witness abuse of the prisoners, and if so, please give us examples.

Abuses meted by prison staff. There were many abuses I witness by prison staff. A disabled inmate by the name of, Troy J. was brutally beaten with the Pr-24's (night sticks) his face was slammed to the concrete floor twice, this man offered no resistance and was shackled, hands (behind his back) and feet. Some men eyewitnessed murders of which they alleged were cover up. Inmates were being poisoned through the cumulative method by the serving of stewed prunes from 1995-1998. The year they stopped serving stewed prunes, after I wrote staff up for this covert method of poisoning inmates. Hence staff were stewing the prunes with the pits, some cracked and split. with the application of heat, this would augment that Amygdalin compound found in the seeds and according to my findings once ingested it would turn into hydrogen cyanide, resulting in cyanide poisoning. When I brought this to the dietitians attention she stated emphatically. "I don't care if you are being poisoned that's the way the doctor said he wanted it done and that's the way I'm going to do it. Shocked at her caviler response I reiterated. "Lady did you understand what I just said to you?"Again the dietitian stated she didn't care.

Additionally, I discovered a large number of inmates deemed insane, were sane prior to arriving to prison. Staff would covertly switch prescribed medication for those non prescribed thereby robbing inmates of there cognizance. Several inmates had lost there motor control, drooling out the sides of there mouths, unable to ambulate, a typical of their arrival to the prisons. Moreover, several inmates came to me to look up the empirical formula of there meds after I had informed them I suspected prison staff were covertly inducing cancer in inmates by covertly dispensing carcinogenic medications. To my dismay my concerns were realized when in fact several of the inmates medications did have carcinogen. My findings were corroborated when I confronted Then physician. Dr. A. in1998 at Marion Corrections.He stated my findings were correct, a number of the prisons medications did contain carcinogens in them.

As I stated in the foregoing they would lace medication, inducing heart attacks. How I caught them, atypical of most unsuspecting inmates. I didn't tell them my heart was hurting. Prison staff unwittingly set up three unbidden trips to cardiology. When I never told a physician or any medical staff I was experiencing a heart attack. Additionally, I feigned taking the medication all the while saving it and mailing it to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati, Ohio. Janis Y. Chief Deputy Clerk, at that time alleged in a letter with the courts letter head she was returning the (direct evidence) the bag which looked like blood. Notwithstanding my attaching to the bag of direct evidence a clear and concise description of what was in the bag. Perplexedly, upon my release June 2003. Checking in with the court they have no record of my evidence and 15 page motions ever arriving at that court. So Janis E. Y. colluded with prison staff to cover for an attempted murder. Think of how many other inmates who have died of heart attacks in prison, who like me never had a heart condition prior to arriving in the prison system. circa 2003. Inmate John P. T. O. C. I. Toledo Corrections recounted how he, and a friend while at Lucasville's S. O. C. F. experienced these same symptoms.

And even more perplexing is my contacting Ohio State Rep. Joseph K. He reportedly sent my evidence against prison staff to the Fed's in Washington DC more than 2 years ago and no one has bother to contact me. It is my supposition they know what I'm saying is true and to open this up would show administrative staff and higher ups in society are involved in putting hits on inmates. Hence I have evidence in the form of letters to show Judge G. of Lorain County Court house in Lorain, Ohio, the judge who put the fallacious criminal charges against me, knew the prison staff was making attempts on my life, but he left in the hands of the miscreants by telling Attorney W. Avon Lake, Ohio, to "Tell Roderick Robinson I want him to do a little more time."

Roderick, You allege that Ohio Correctional Officers have murdered inmates, how do you feel they have done this?

They have poisoned inmates by the lacing of medication; switching meds,beating them to death, and then hang the corpse in an empty cell, alleging the inmate committed suicide. Some of the men who allegedly committed suicide were solid men, and I personally don't buy into there ostensible suicides. I've also, in grievances challenged prison staff to take polygraph test to debunk my allegations concerning the murders of inmates, and offered to pay for the testing as well as pay for the trip to take the test, but no one has come forward. Nor will veteran staffer who know what I'm saying is true. Moreover, a staffer who had a little too much to drink stated in front of me and several inmates. " I know for a fact the staff in these prisons are murdering inmates."

I understand you are searching for others who can help support your allegations?

Prison staff make it difficult to maintain contact with prison associates. By making it a parole stipulation you are to have no contact during your parole. Mine lasted a little over two years. It would have lasted longer were it not for my sending a letter of admonishment to the head of the parole authority citing the reason for failing to release me from parole after two years was bogus, and was viewed by me as yet another ploy by those in collusion with poison staff to murder me before I got off parole. FBI agent Ed. S. Cleveland Ohio office put a hit on me hiring a man by the name of Joseph J. A.K.A. G. This evidence has been certified to the Lorain, County Ohio, and the Manatee County Florida sheriff's offices,as well as family and friends.

It's a matter of record it was sent June 2004. certification receipts to the FBI; Bob Taft. former governor of Ohio; Joseph Kozura. Ohio state Rep. I also made several phone calls to the FBI To no avail. Additional, Ms. B. Ohio State Medical board was in contact with me during my prison tenure and may have called the FBI as well, but apparently was admonished to back off, as months later of our regular correspondence she advised me to stop sending her evidence of the attempts on my life, and the possible murders of others. Atypical of her attitude prior.

What is your life like now, and what are your goals for the future?

I live in a fish bowl, I have to watch everything I do. In fact some one sent me $1400 alleging to be a home business opportunity and I was to mail boxes out of the country with the pre paid stickers sent me. Well the boxes never arrived and I was instructed to send the cash to France. Well suspecting the FBI was attempting to set me up in a money laundering scam I contacted a paypal rep asked her what would have happened to me had I mailed that money over seas. She stated you would have been arrested on Federal charges for money laundering and sent away for a long time.

I'm in fear of my life by reason when I uncovered the hit on me by the FBI Agent S. post my release. I have a litany of evidence against these people and they want me dead only I've let others know they intend to murder me so they want to make it look like it was either self induced, or accidental. Since I moved to Florida and several times men in suits were seen in my drive way at my current residence. My ex mother in law with whom I reside, had to ask them to leave as they had no business parking in her driveway. Hence I seldom go anywhere, my social life is non existent. I continue with my activism in hopes someone in society will say enough is enough! These individuals don't have a right to make a mockery of our constitution, they don't have a right to murder those who have not been sentenced to death. Nor rob an innocent man of his liberties.

Roderick, do you consider yourself a Prison Rights Activist? What are some of your ideas about prison reform? Prisons everywhere are overcrowded, what do you think is the reason for this?

Yes, I consider myself a prison activist as well as an activist for basic human, and animal rights. In my possession, I have a January 13, 1995, signed personal letter during his tenure, former, vice president, Al Gore, thanking me regarding my concern for the protection of the African elephant population under the convention on International Trade in endangered species of wild Fauna, and Floria (Cities) In Africa.

Additionally, I was also instrumental in raising money for the family's and the investigation of the murdered children in the South some years ago.

If we expect to have prison reform we have got to make dramatic changes to an existing failing system that geared to recidivism, neo day slavery. A system set up for racial culling hence percentage wise minorities make up far too much of the prison population. When some of there counter parts brake the same laws but are released or given lesser sentences, or in my case where my ex girl friend Loretta M. brutally beaten.

Many of these inmates released back into society are angry, angry by reason society has turned there back on this corruption. All their efforts for respite while in prison went on deaf ears. Some of these men eyewitnessed friends and associates murdered, brutally beaten, some have medically confirmed heart damage like myself as a result of what prison staff have done and they come out wanting revenge only to get caught up in the recidivism cycle which at times causes his or her life. But that's OK by prison staff.

Hence they know at circa $30,000 per capita, for each inmate and circa $60,000 for disabled inmates annually, close to 2,000 inmates per facility. The prison industry is booming allegedly on the stock market covertly fleecing the public citing we need more prisons so as to turn this already big business, into a dynasty.

Lets face it prisons are a dynasty and unless when it comes to corrections, they are designed to make money and give the prison staff a free reign to do what ever they want to, mayhem and murder, racial culling, proof of that came when I wrote to the U. S. D. Civil Rights Division Washington, DC concerning a brutal beating on a disabled inmate I eyewitnessed.

They were going to investigate. However, when I caught staff attempting to murder me, sent a copy of a letter from US Marshall, Lori C. Her directive for me to contact the FBI. along with other incriminating evidence. The U. S. D. of Justice Civil Rights Division wrote me back concerning my contentions of attempts on my life. The letter read as follows. "...because it's an isolated case, we can't investigate..." I replied, citing the dead can't speak for themselves. Post my release from prison again I contacted them only to be turned down again sending me a clarion message Washington condones what ever prison staff do to inmates even murder.

Do you view prison as an industry?
