Jennifer has been skating for over 4 years. She started skating when her friend, Mary Pat Taylor, became a coach at Sertich Ice Center. Jennifer started in the classes offered by Sertich Ice Center and continued with private instruction. Her first competition was the Colorado Springs Invitational in 2005 where she took 3rd place. Jennifer is the mother of two adorable children, her daughter also ice skates attending classes and participating in many competitions around the state. Currently Jennifer is taking a break from skating after the birth of her son, but will return to lessons soon.

Which events are you competing in?
-I am actually unable to compete this year, I had to take a break from skating after my son was born. But I'm gearing up for next year!

How long have you been a skater?
-I started in 2004 as an adult, and I have loved every minute of it.

What level are you currently skating?
-I'm not sure any longer. I am still in basic skills but I have mastered moves all the way through basic 8. I have also started learning dances (good exercise and all I could do while with child!)

What is your most difficult move?
-Still the spin, I have had trouble letting it happen.

What is your favorite move?
-Waltz Jump - it feels so free and expressive!

Do you have a favorite coach or teacher?
-My first coach was also my best friend - Mary Pat Taylor. I have also taken lessons from Sharon Lebron-Frank.

-My daughter started learning as well and took lessons from Mary Pat, Lisa Hlavacek, John Carmondy, and Sharon. All of them are good coaches but my daughter just wanted to move on to another sport.

What is your ultimate skating goal?
-Just to have fun. The move I want to attain is a "donut on a stick" and to learn all the dances with my significant other.

We all know that first place is the ultimate goal - or so everyone says - but what is your personal goal for CSI?
-I'm hoping my friends have fun and I plan to be there to cheer them on!

What would you like to say to all the coaches and competitors coming to this year's competition?
-Way to go guys! I can't wait to get out there and see how everyone has improved. I can't wait to see how my coaches and old skating partner are doing!

If you could say anything to spectators wishing to attend, what would it be?
-Bring friends, bring family, and bring a blanket - the arena can get cold. Just think, you will get to see Olympic level skating - without the Olympic level price.

Thanks Jennifer. Good luck when you get back into the sport.
