Curtis Ray Bizelli
Stormy Montana
Date of Interview: March 10, 2007
With the permission of a parent, I was able to sit down with a bright, God-Driven young lady and do an interview with her. To say that she is incredibly talented or that she is intelligent, is truly an understatement. She is only 13 years old, and her name is Stormy Montana. Remember that name, folks - because she has the potential to be BIG one day, and I'm telling you, most likely she will be, because she has already came a long way with her music career. Coming out of the state of Tennessee, she is a natural born Country/Blues/Classic Rock artist. Listen to what she has to say in this interview, and at the end check out her MySpace page to listen to her remarkable voice.

Curtis Bizelli: Hi Stormy, I've had the privilege of not only listening to your music but working with you on collaborations. You're very talented, and I'm very excited about interviewing you.

Stormy Montana: Thank you

Curtis Bizelli: How old are you Stormy, and how old were you when you first began singing?

Stormy Montana: I am currently 13, and I have been singing all my life, but I started thinking of it as a career when I was around 9.

Curtis Bizelli: That's really cool

Stormy Montana: Yeah. I guess that's one word to describe it. (haha)

Curtis Bizelli: (haha) What is the #1 thing that initially compelled you to singing?

Stormy Montana: My mom. She's been such a great inspiration. She's always supported me as much as she possibly could.

Curtis Bizelli: That's great. Are you and your mom really close? Do you talk to her a lot?

Stormy Montana: well, I am 13, and I do live with her, so yeah, we talk every now and then. (haha). Yeah, I love my mom. She's the best.

Curtis Bizelli: (haha) Ok, What do you love about music the most?

Stormy Montana: Oh gosh. There's too much to pick from that...But I guess I would have to say how not only can you lose yourself on stage and show all of the emotions inside, but also being able to interact with people. [However, I really] love everything about it.

Curtis Bizelli: Have you ever performed in front of a live audience?

Stormy Montana: Many times, yes

Curtis Bizelli: Can you give me some examples of places that you've played?

Stormy Montana: (haha) sure ... Jackson, TN; Paducah, KY; Nashville, TN; there are lots of places.

Curtis Bizelli: You like to laugh a lot, don't you?

Stormy Montana: Is it that obvious? (haha)

Curtis Bizelli: (haha) you're funny

Stormy Montana: Thanks

Curtis Bizelli: No Problemo, What is your favorite type, or types of music to listen to?

Stormy Montana: Country, Blues, Southern and Classical Rock

Curtis Bizelli: Very interesting...most girls your age aren't into that type of music.

Stormy Montana: I'm weird, I know.

Curtis Bizelli: You're not weird, You're special

Stormy Montana: Yeah. My mom and teachers say that too.

Curtis Bizelli: Well, you are.

Stormy Montana: But to me, most of the other stuff really isn't even music.

Curtis Bizelli: Let me get this straight. You don't believe that Rap, R&B, Pop, Techno, Modern Rock, Alternative, Italian, Latin, etc. is music?

Stormy Montana: I didn't mean that. I meant like Rap, Emo, Screamo, Hardcore stuff like that. I love all the rest. But the ones I said earlier are my favorites.

Curtis Bizelli: Oh, I understand completely what you're saying. I still haven't quite figured out exactly what half of those are, like Emo for example, but I imagine I wouldn't like it. I don't believe a whole bunch of screaming is music either.

Stormy Montana: That's what Emo and Screamo are. Screaming.

Curtis Bizelli: That's what I figured

Stormy Montana: But I do like the new rock bands.

Curtis Bizelli: Really? Like who?

Stormy Montana: Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, stuff like that. Hinder is good too.

Curtis Bizelli: Who has inspired you the most, musician or not, in your life the most?

Stormy Montana: Can there be more than one person on that list? (haha)

Curtis Bizelli: (haha) I will make an exception for you. Yes there can be more than one person on that list.

Stormy Montana: My mom, my vocal trainer, and five of my friends that have been the most supportive.

Curtis Bizelli: Awesome

Stormy Montana: Very

Curtis Bizelli: What are the instruments that you play?

Stormy Montana: Guitar mostly. I play a little piano, and I play the juice harp.

Curtis Bizelli: You know what? You really amaze me! "The juice harp". That's incredible. I don't know exactly what it is, but it's incredible. (haha)

Stormy Montana: (haha) Thank you.

Curtis Bizelli: You mention on your MySpace page that your group basically just consists of you...Who plays the rest of the instruments?

Stormy Montana: You mean on the song on my MySpace?

Curtis Bizelli: in general! Ok, say you are playing live ...Who plays the drums? Who plays the bass?

Stormy Montana: I usually just go solo. I've only gotten up with a full band about 5 times.

Curtis Bizelli: I gotcha, so who played with you when you recorded the song, "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around", that's on your MySpace page?

Stormy Montana: Dave Brainard. He's amazing.

Curtis Bizelli: What did he play?

Stormy Montana: I'm not a studio musician, so I didn't play guitar. He played everything on it. He even did the background vocals. He's a one-man band.

Curtis Bizelli: alright, that's cool.. You still did your part, because your voice is amazing.

Stormy Montana: Well thank you!

Curtis Bizelli: your welcome, Have you ever though about getting a band together?

Stormy Montana: I've considered it...But I'm trying to work on getting myself somewhere. You know what I mean?

Curtis Bizelli: I see. Stormy, Are you religious?

Stormy Montana: Yes. Very!

Curtis Bizelli: That's really awesome. I'm glad to hear that. How has God played a part in your life of music?

Stormy Montana: Well, I have a God-given talent. I know my mom, and certainly not my dad don't sing, so [God's] the real reason I even sing. I am blessed, because I wasn't really even supposed to happen.

Curtis Bizelli: Everybody has a gift, and you are definitely gifted.

Stormy Montana: Thank you

Curtis Bizelli: You are welcome. How much time do you devote to your passion for music?

Stormy Montana: A lot of time. Maybe even too much. It seems like everything I do is in some way related to music.

Curtis Bizelli: How often do you go to the recording studio?

Stormy Montana: As much as I can. I should be getting in again sometime soon.

Curtis Bizelli: Wow, you were just there.

Stormy Montana: I know

Curtis Bizelli: That's great. I'm glad things are picking up for you.

Stormy Montana: Thank you

Curtis Bizelli: So, you spend so much time working on your music, What other things and hobbies do you like to do in your free time?

Stormy Montana: Reading, writing, dancing, hanging out [with] my friends. Stuff like that.

Curtis Bizelli: Cool, So you're not working all of the time. That's good. Everybody needs a break every now and then. Well, I know you've mentioned that your mom is very supportive of what you do. Are you close to your dad and siblings as well?

Stormy Montana: I haven't seen my dad since I was about 6. I don't talk to him all that much. I have 1 brother, who I haven't seen since I was 9, but we keep in touch, and I have a sister, who I just saw in November at the State Junior Beta Convention.

Curtis Bizelli: Is it true that you've thought about a career in Law?

Stormy Montana: Yes, that's what I'm going to work from in High school and College

Curtis Bizelli: So, do you want to be a Lawyer or a Musician?

Stormy Montana: I already am I musician. (haha). But as I backup plan, I'd like to study Entertainment Law at MTSU in Nashville.

Curtis Bizelli: Sounds like a plan

Stormy Montana: Yeah. people are always saying I'd make a good lawyer.

Curtis Bizelli: and why's that?

Stormy Montana: I love to argue.

Curtis Bizelli: Ok, that's fine, Just don't argue with me.

Stormy Montana: Oh come on. (haha)

Curtis Bizelli: (haha) So, two final questions, Storm! You do want to be famous one day? Because, I'll tell you, I do believe you have what it takes.

Stormy Montana: I'd love it. But I don't want to be famous just to be famous. I want to be able to help people.

Curtis Bizelli: Amen! That's great. You are really an awesome young lady.

Stormy Montana: Thank you! But really, what's the point in having a God-given talent if you're not going to use it? I believe that I was put on earth to at least make some sort of difference.

Curtis Bizelli: Stormy, you have a lot to offer to the world. I'm sure you are going to go far. Do you have a website that you would like people to know about?

Stormy Montana: Well, I am currently working on it. www.stormymontana.com [For
