Interview: Triond CEO Explains Benefits of Monetizing Content

A Different Kind of Article Submission Site

Donna Porter
Shahar Solomianik, CEO, Triond
Date of Interview: January 1st, 2007
Recently, I came across an article submission site named Triond, and decided to give it a try. I soon found it to be different from most article mills and unpaid or paid article sites, such as helium.com and ezinearticles.com (Associated Content is of a different caliber.) So I decided to ask the CEO if he would be interested in telling me more about his company and how it benefits contributors.

What is Triond and what does the name mean?

"Triond is the place for anyone who wishes to monetize their original content to the fullest. Triond is named after a beautiful spot up in the Indian Himalayas. Well ...not just a beautiful spot, but the most beautiful spot in the world."

What are the benefits to writers and content providers who publish on Triond?

"Triond users can monetize their content to the fullest with a very friendly and easy-to-use system. Triond does not require its users to comply with any method of creating content. Triond complies with its users. All that Triond users have to do in order to publish is to sign up and submit content. It can be in any media format, any language, and on any topic. We are a 'one-stop-shop' for all content monetization needs."

On average what does a content provider make per month, and what do your top producers make?

"On one hand, we have some users who make just a few cents per month and on the other hand we have some users that are already making three digit figures monthly. It all depends on the content's topic, quality, language and commercial potential."

What sets Triond apart from competing companies, such as helium.com?

"We are the simplest and easiest to use content monetization service there is. We keep our requirements to the minimum, enabling submissions of all content types, formats, languages and topics. We do not force our users to change their content production habits, but rather fit in smoothly with them. Just do whatever it is that you usually do, the only addition is pressing the "submit" button on Triond."

What are your suggestions to make Triond more profitable, such as keyword density, when publishing articles or video content?

"We do not want our users to produce content in a "forced manner" that fits with this SEO axiom or the other. We believe in natural content production and that natural content production is also wise marketing. We have a small set of tips at: http://www.triond.com/writingguidelines.php"

What are your future goals for Triond and are you meeting your current ones?

"When I was younger my dream was to make a living out of my creativity. At that time there wasn't anything like Triond that could help me achieve this goal. I hope that Triond will help others fulfill this dream. One more thing: One of our users posted a comment on our blog saying that, 'Triond is going to be the biggest publishing service in the world.' I guess that's a novel goal."

I notice your business is located in Israel; does it have any barring on your audience or target publications? Any other comments about doing business in your homeland?

"We have the time difference hassle, but then again we are a global service, providing service to users worldwide. So we must be located somewhere. I did stumble upon some posts by Muslim bloggers warning their readers from joining Triond on account of political/religious reasons. That's very sad in my opinion. Wouldn't this kind of cooperation, regardless of political/religious issues, be a base for better understanding and peace?"

In closing, my response. "Thank you for your time to be interviewed. I support economical opportunity for all regardless of creed, religion and so on. There will always be critics for one reason or another. But I think you have a good thing going here and hope that you reach your goals."

As for my summary of Triond, I think it caters to the content producer quite nicely and the service is very easy to use. The pay, not substantial at this point, offers potential supplemental income and exposure. Triond appears to be an improvement over many content submission sites. So, if you are looking for an additional place to submit your work, check out Triond.com and see if it is right for you.

Triond doesn't pay well, and after their latest malware fiasco I certainly won't be writing there again. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5775572/triond_malware_disaster.html?cat=15

It's good to hear from the CEO with this question and answer. I have been in Triond for 3 years and I have received several pays from them already. I also enjoyed my stay with them. In fact, I have teamed with a few of the people who also made a comment here.

More power to Triond and its members!

I HAVE BEEN WRITING FOR TRIOND FOR 4 MONTHS, IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH, and if you say you make money in Triond, you are lying, (or you are a Triond's employee)who pretends to be a successful writer. Nobody makes money there. Just check how many visitors Triond gets per day , and you will see that nobody make more than $20 per month. Please don't lie! Don't waste your time in that site!

Thank you for this informative article Donna! I signed up on Triond in April 2008, and I absolutely love it! The community is warm and friendly, and I am slowly seeing a few pennies turn into dollars. Just like Darlene said, if you are in it for the money, write articles, as they bring in more than poetry, short stories or photos. Over time, I hope to make a three digit income there. Along with AC, Triond is a cut above other content writing sites. I highly recommend it to make $$ writing online! -Allison ;)

Good interview, but I would have to stick with AC. I find it much more profitable.
