Interview: Youtube Makeup Guru Julieg713 Talks to AC

Makeup gurus on Youtube have become a big hit recently. Everyday people just like us are creating and teaching us how to create amazing makeup looks right at our computer. These makeup looks could be an overall look, an eyes only creation or some amazing nails designs. I love the fact that these guru's take the time to show you how to create the looks and show you where each color goes. Julieg713 is one of my favorite Youtube makeup guru's right now. She is an amazingly talented and beautiful woman that creates tutorials from everything to simple everyday looks to high fashion creations. Julieg713 is also known for her nail tutorials where she creates salon worthy looks that you can do yourself and then shows you step by step how to create them. If Julieg713's creativeness and talent is not enough to hook you, than her personality will. She is bubbly, friendly, and has a very warm persona that easily comes across in her videos. You feel as though you just finished talking to a close friend once you finish watching her videos. Julieg713 was nice enough to do an interview with me so let's get started and find out more about this Youtube makeup maven.

1. Have you always been interested in makeup or is it more of recent passion?

I have always been fascinated with how makeup can "transform". It inspires so many different outcomes and possibilities.

2. How did you start building your makeup collection?

Mostly by curiosity. If I saw a particular piece of makeup and it looked interesting, I would buy it and use it as many ways as I could think of, and really get the most out of my purchase. It kind of built from there, becoming more and more curious about all these great beauty products around me. My viewers have also suggested several different products based on their own experience, which has helped me find some of my favorite pieces in my collection.

3. What was your inspiration for starting your Julieg713 Youtube channel?

My inspiration for starting my makeup channel was to inspire others and share ideas with other makeup enthusiasts. I was stuck in a rut with my own makeup routine, and wanted to be more adventurous. My channel has not only helped me do just that, but hopefully has inspired others in the process.

4. What advice would you give to aspiring makeup guru's on Youtube?

Have fun and allow your creativity to inspire others!

5. What is your most commonly asked question and the answer to it?

Are your nails real? Yes.

6. Your nail polish tutorials are a big Youtube hit! How many nail polishes are in your collection?

I currently own around 50+. Yikes!

7. What are the drawbacks of being such a successful Youtube makeup guru?

I love what I do and I feel if you have an intense passion for something, there are no drawbacks.

8. Where do you get the ideas for the videos you create?

Everywhere! I get them from nature, paintings, animals... whatever you can think of. I also have to credit my viewers because they share their AMAZING ideas with me!

9. What are the 3 most important items one needs to start doing nail art?

Nail Polish, Nail Brush and Imagination

10. Is makeup something you hope to do as a career or is it more of a hobby?

Right now, it's my hobby. I currently am studying business, so who knows- there are possibilities for it becoming more than just a hobby. Even if makeup were to become part of my career, I love it so much there's no way it could ever become just a job to me.

11. Do you ever get recognized when you are out and about?

If so, does it make your embarrassed or anything? Yes, I LOVE meeting my viewers! It's like meeting old friends and we always end up chatting about makeup. It's great!
