Today I am interviewing filmmaker Tyler Savage. Welcome Tyler, it's nice to hear from you.

Why don't you tell me about yourself?

My full name is Tyler Daniel Savage. I'm from an area in Los Angeles, CA. known as Studio City.
I attended the same school from kindergarten through my senior year. Presently, I'm living in New York City, along with continuing to study film at NYU. In the near future I am going abroad to study screen writing in Dublin, Ireland.

What made you realize that you wanted to work in the film industry?

I can't really remember what first inspired me to work in film. I started making bad short films when I was seven or eight years old, in many of which I played multiple characters in a scene. I remember I once got together about thirty kids from my 6th grade class to shoot a WWII battle scene. It's always just been something I've done; I can't really imagine doing anything else.

What are some of the projects you are currently working on?

I'm currently working on a documentary titled 'Paul Curtis: An American Mime.' It is a portrait of the man who created a medium of mime in the early 1950s. The last short film I made was titled 'Fixed.' It is a non-linear story about five lives affected by a death. I shot it on 16mm and was very satisfied in the end of production, not only with the way it looked but also with the caliber of the performances.

Are there plans for any future projects?

Yes, I'm currently in pre-production on another documentary that I plan to shoot in June 2007. But beyond that I'm focusing mainly on my writing, and trying to develop the right idea for my eventual feature debut.

What made you decide to cast actor Carson Grant for the role of Peter in the film 'Fixed?'
I cast Carson Grant as the role of Peter in my 16mm short, 'Fixed.' It was really his look that initially attracted me. Then when we met to talk about the script and I saw how curious and eager he was a performer, I knew he was right for the role.

Are you involved with any upcoming film festivals?

Not as of yet, although I plan to shop a few films around at festivals this summer, I haven't had the time in recent months due to other projects.
Thank you very much Tyler for taking the time to answer some questions about your film making career, keep up the good work.
