An Appeal to the Government of God

Psalms 67:2
"God be merciful to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us, That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all the nations."

Father thank You for granting us Your Presence and Favor that You will be known throughout the nations.....

The matter of government ignoring the cries of the people and passing legislation which mandates such strict control over citizens is very troubling to me. By the legislation just recently signed and approved for Healthcare Reform, all U.S. citizens are being commanded by government to purchase costly health insurance.

The greatest outcry from the Christian community, and rightly so, is against the government funding of abortion, but many unconstitutional mandates are a part of this legislature. I am sensing a very real possiblity of abuse of power which benefits insurance companies at the expense of the little man, the lower and middle income citizen. Please bear with me as I present an example of what I am saying. Since 1995, in my home state, Texas. insurance companies have lobbied for and won legislature which mandates harsher measures against citizens who allow their liability insurance coverage to lapse. An overview of some of the repercussions of this:

1. Vehicle cannot be registered or inspected without insurance.
2. Late payment and allowing any lapse in coverage results in a loss of ability to find inexpensive coverage with reputable companies
3. Lapse in coverage; traffic tickets with excessive fines; late payment adds a large penalty, failure to pay; warrants issued for your arrest, jail time,
4. Possible loss of driving license resulting in adverse effects on earning power.
5. Possible vehicle impoundment; with a fee of approx. $300 or more to recover vehicle.

This puts a burden on the man who is not wealthy. It seems to me an extreme way to deal with drivers who have committed no actual wrongdoing. We are severely penalized for what we might possibly do. that will cost others. Personally I have had two car accidents in 50 years of driving, but I am by law required to pay out in excess of $1200 yearly for liability insurance, and additional fines and penalties for non-compliance. The insurance companies are granted vast and unfair powers of control and intimidation by law which oppress and control unjustly.. I am old enough that I can remember when it was not against the law to drive a car without liability insurance, and I have watched the sad progression of change over the years.

The young person just starting out as a driver faces a difficult task of buying affordable transportation in order to make his living, and maintaining car insurance which can be more costly that their monthly car payments. The young are penalized by excessive rates hikes based on statistics which show that they are responsible for the majority of car accidents. The young and the poor are often treated as low class and rebellious to the rule of law while the rich insurance moguls are made richer. It seems to be that this kind of injustice through corrupt legislation would serve to sow seeds of disrespect for law in young people who are struggling through many other forms of growing pains. .

In summary, based on previous experience with these legislative mandates in my state, in the matter of the Healthcare insurance mandates, I can foresee poor men who cannot keep regular insurance because of financial lack being penalized and fined and even jailed because someone in their family had a health crisis and they were forced to seek medical help with no insurance. What other unjust abuse of power can be hidden here? I fear even worse from this legislation. I have set my face to seek the help of my God for such injustice!

God is the defender of the poor who are oppressed by the rich! That is not to say that God does not love the rich man. But he certainly will deal justly with those who set their hearts to make themselves rich by the unjust oppression of the poor man.

We must seek the Lord for the kind of obedience that will bring his intervention and justice. Change to society can only come through the obedience of God's people! We must set out hearts right before the Lord as we pray for our leaders who are legislating hurtful laws; remember that Daniel was unjustly commanded to bow down to King Nebuchanezer's idol. When he refused to obey the King's decree, he was severely punished, but then delivered by his God. As he dealt with the unjust King, he kept the peace, saying, "Oh, King, live forever". The end of that matter was the King acknowledging that heaven ruled and turning his heart toward true reverence of God.

The current Healthcare legislation just signed into law has been challenged at the Supreme Court level by Jay Seculow and The American Center for Law And Justice. Thirteen State Attorney Generals have filed suits against the Federal government. Other lawsuits will be filed.

An interesting article citing the unconstitutional mandate of the law. (written before the law was passed)

I am not in any way joining in a political war between Republicans and Democrats, or conservatives and liberals. I desire to stand with in a spirit of love and unity with the precepts of the word of the Lord. I desire to see justice done for the little man who has no defense but the Lord!

Pray, Pray, Pray! Prepare, Prepare, Prepare!

I am a great-grandmother who loves to share God's love and his word with all he sends. Blessing to all who read! But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be so...  View profile
