Intrinsic Problems to Allowing All Linemen Eligible in a Silver Springs Flag Football League

Whack-ass Joe Ferg Linemen Rules

Many of you know the architect to the Cutters success is also known as the Norseman. Here, he explains fundamental problems with a "whack-ass-league" i.e the Ferg league based out of Silver Springs Maryland:

Norseman, describe blocking in the Ferg flag football league:

"take downfield blocking for instance. Players can't block for a receiver once he gets the ball, yet they allow blocking on punts and kickoffs. There's no rhyme or reason to this rule."

Norseman, explain what goes on with the linemen in the Ferg league?

"We were told that defensive linemen were not allowed to grab the jersey of the offensive lineman. This is legal in all levels of football... not an all-out hold, but getting into the pads of the o-lineman and then tossing his ass to the side."

Norseman, what do you think of the JoeFerg sports," total eligibility"of linemen? Specifically, how does this fit into Ferg's "whacked football" concept?"

"Everyone being eligible is a huge joke. There's no need for any offensive lineman, and there's simply no creativity or strategy allowed when everyone is eligible. It's lunch-recess football. Joe seems to think there's actual defensive schemes that can be built to counter 6 players going out for a pass, but it just doesn't happen. Can you imagine some of our bigger guys trying to cover someone all over the field?"

Norseman, what did you think of the length of the game?

"20 minute halves. Boring."
